Exactly ! Most of us were pissed off that we'd signed a one paced donkey totally unsuited to English football whilst a select few have tried to pretend what a great signing he's been despite some of the most desperate defensive performances since Stepanovs wore the red and white

Agreed - all three have been utterly fucking cock. Which is back to our base question - who was responsible for buying these guys, training them every day and the system in which they play.

Answers on a postcard titled "Self Harmer Competition" please

It is a good signing. Gibbs has so much time out with injury and Santos , well nothing to say there. We just need the rest of the defence to be kicked up the backside as they are pretty dire to say the least . Mertsacker is slow and average and what happended to the once great TV5 , how many errors does he now make ?

I think the prospect of Bayern Munich with Santos at left back or TV5 was too much for even the senile git.

No confidence in this last minute panic buy, Wenger couldn't spot a good full back in a good full back shop.

The only thing I have heard about this guy is that he is good going forward. While that isnt a bad thing, its a concern that this is how people first describe a defender.

Will have to wait and see but Im sure if he has any quality Wenger will soon see to that.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has defended full-back Andre Santos following his performance against Liverpool in midweek.

The Brazilian was highly criticised following the Gunners' 2-2 draw with the Reds on Wednesday when he was thrown into the match following a thigh injury to Kieran Gibbs.

"Maybe people speak that he had a difficult game [against Liverpool] but he lacks competition," Wenger told the club's official website.

"He is a style of player who needs competition because he is not a nervous type of player, he is a stamina type of player and get sharper through competition. Yes [the criticism of Santos is unfair] because if you watch the game again and you analyse very well his performance, you will be less critical."

Seriously, how can anyone continue to have faith in Wenger? I'm sorry but the nonsense this guy comes out with makes me question whether he actually knows anything about the game, despite his '30 years in football'!!

He is a condescending arrogant bastard, yet there are so many of his brainless fucking following who will have known what they saw on Wednesday night, yet now be convinced they were wrong because Arsene fucking tells them so.
