Royal Baby/Prince George

It's all a load of Cannonballs in here! This is the virtual Arsenal pub where you can chat about anything except football. Be warned though, like any pub, the content may not always be suitable for everyone.

The aristocracy is mostly people who hustled their way into wealth and power over the years, a few worked their way up too.
Most people on here and in society would do the same thing if possible.
Can't knock the hustle.
Spot on Quartz!

It's funny when people turn their nose up at historical politics. Really, what other way of settling things was there back then? Is everyone going to sit around a nice comfy table and mutually decide who gets to be top dog and live the life of power and luxury? Are they fuck, they're going to use their own power and influence to knock out weaker rivals and grab it for themselves and other people are going to try and marry into it etc etc. This is human history, go back as far as you like and tbh it's highly naïve to think that this isn't how a lot of things work these days.

Pirates of the Caribbean is an abortion of a film series but there is one apt scene in it when the pirates are voting for a king and they all vote for themselves.

I'm no royal enthusiast - they just seem to be a charity vehicle these days that makes a lot of old women happy, fair enough imo.

Harmless in a way, but indicative of the type of class society which is the UK.

Every society has a hierarchy, mafia, etc...just depends whether they're working class or upper class.

Talking of mafia...piss off Wenger :barscarf: :D

Umm, aren't we sort of supposed to evolve and get better? Or am I still allowed to take your wife if I hit you over the head with a club, or put your kids up chimneys?
