As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.
ITS A NO BRAINER!! when he's bearing down on our goal next season and putting the game to bed for Liverpool it will be too late!!he is one of the few players who when the balls at his feet and he's heading towards your goal you actually shit yourself,GET HIM NOW WENKER!!!
Have your own view by all means but it's bollocks to say it beggars belief that people wouldn't want him given his rap sheet. You speak for yourself fella, not everyone.
It beggars belief. How is this me speaking for everyone? It beggars belief people vote Tory TO ME. And it beggars belief that anyone doesn't want one of the best strikers in the world at Arsenal TO ME. That's an opinion you know, hardly a 'You're all wrong'
John Aldridge on Twitter says he didn't like Suarez body language today and tht he didn't look a happy chappie.
Also BBC website saying Liverpool will give him permission to talk to us but he will only be sold if we meet their valuation of 50m +,so now Rooney it is then
I Hate Hleb wrote:If only that would come true as I'm one of the few on here that think Rooney would be the better signing for us.
I think Suarez is the better player, so he'd be my first choice... but both would be great signings, as both can lead the line, work hard and take us to another level.
I'm not sure which one would be more hard work though - both have the potential to blow up in our faces, but I'd rather risk that than play safe and only sign good, quiet guys.
I can't see why such an ineffectual clause would be inserted. It is normal practice for clubs to inform players when bids have been received. The scousers are playing victims again. It has triggered talks and it will trigger a move until Real step in. Liverpool first said it only means they have to inform player. Now they are saying it only allows talks. No legal team would put in a toothless release clause; it might as well be absent.
We aren't getting enough respect for this bid. If it went through would it be the largest fee paid by a non-oligarch British club? Glad we are getting back to the days when we broke the transfer record for DB10. The £1 is being ridiculed but we're just giving Carragher his money back.
Big,Big risk imho....
Yes he is a world class player and a brilliant finisher, but he would come with an awful lot of baggage. He'd already be on a ban and every ref in the EPL will have his card marked.
I'm also of the opinion like a few others on here, that we would just be another stepping stone for him on his way to greater things.
I voted no but if it was a case of Suarez or nobody I'd bite his bloody hand off!
We broke the British record JD, previously set for Andy Cole. It only lasted for a week until the brummie dogger went to the Victims. (I just double checked with Wiki )
On another point, I remember you correcting me that I couldn't blame Gazidis for transfer negotiations as he doesn't get involved. Perhaps he called the Melbourne Hotel by mistake?
I don't think that Arsenal should sign him and definitely not for that amount of money!
Cons:
-Character
-Working rate
-Missed out for the first six games
Pro:
-30 goals in 44 games

I was one of the few people in the East Stand that day not hit by the coin!
Wasn't it only our own record we broke with Bergkamp?
for 11 days in 1995 we held the british transfer record 7 and half mill for bergkamp
it was broken when stan collymore went to liverpool for 1 million more
still crying over missing out on light under a bushel stan
