As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.
As we are all comparing pubs around the ground why don't we run a poll (Stearmaster, enter stage right) and settle on the one that would be most suitable for a big piss up. Then we could arrange something special for after the last home game with as many forum members attending as possible?
Can you imagine that....a forum annual piss-up
I like the idea, spudmasher . Once a year, after last home game, big piss up. I'm gonna try and get another few games in between now and then, but I will deffo be at last home game so keep me informed.
As far as fave battle cruisers goes; I used to like the Barn and the Gunners. Like the atmos in the Rocket but the queuing sucks the shit out of Cashley's mobile phone. Was a "guest" in the Cannon club for a while and liked the lock in facility we always got from Andy and his missus. Pins is cool too.
I love the gunners. Was in there last week for the first time since cc final and had forgotten how great that pub is. It's like an arsenal museum. I usually go to chapman cos its the first good pub i get to on the way to the ground but im going to start going gunners before matches again.
Definitely be going for the champs league away matches. some great nights in there in 2006. Anyone remember the squirrel walking round the pub ahead of the villareal 2nd leg
The Gunners is fantastic for its decor and nostalgia - love the place! Normally a good atmsophere, only down side is you can no longer leave at 2.50pm to take your seat.
For a pint close to the ground I do enjoy the Rocket and have never had too much problem with queuing. Good atmopshere, big screen showing other games and a short walk to the ground.
We are lucky in that there are a wide range of pubs in which to celebrate our victories (and occasional draws) in.
I tend to vary it up depending on who i'm with. Rocket's normally a must although like everyone else the queuing is a pain (get me a pint in Trevheff if you can avoid the crowds!), but the atmosphere is top notch particularly before a big game.
Gooners is the place for nostalgia. Sometimes head in there although only couple times this year. Herbert Chapman and Tommy Flynn's are couple of others I pop into.
Going to have to try the pins now I know where it is.
Aaah, a pub thread In me time I've drunk in quite a few at varying points in history First one for me was The Gunners in the mid 70s then The Arsenal Tavern a year or two later in the days when they had strippers on before saturday games, you could hardly get in the place A short time in The Bank Of Friendship (too small) The Auld Triangle when it was still called The Plimsoll Arms, The Blackstock Arms, The Gaslight and last but not least and our current drinking place for the last 8 or 9 years, The 12 Pins and a mention also has to go to The Shires (the old bar on the old St Pancras Station) and The York (platform 9 Kings Cross Station) where the odd drinkie or two has been supped over the years

If you get there latish ( from about 30 mins before ko) you'll get charged a fiver to get in but you get two drinks for that so you get yer money back, or is it £6? can't remember but it's worth it whatever.
