Re: DORTMUND CL GAME THREAD
To be fair if we get into the UEFA Cup it will be at the bottom of our priorities and it's just not the sort of cup you can win playing the ressies.
This will be a phenomenally difficult game and we'll definitely be resigned to defending doggedly and trying to nick something on the break but I'd certainly accept defeat here in exchange for getting something on the weekend.

Glorious defeat beckons

Exactly - its not the chosen path but nor is jerking off in a frenzy at finishing 4th and throwing away all the cupsg88ner wrote:Worth it if we win it! - we've not won anything for 8yrs, so I don't think we're in a position to look down our noses at the UEFA Cup!augie wrote:SteveO 35 wrote:You'll be in a small minority with me and a handful of others mate. Steve O, I get your hunger for a trophy and we all agree with it but surely the prospect of Thursday night, Sunday, Thursday night football would be enough of a reason not to play in that farcical European cast off's cup ?
Re: DORTMUND CL GAME THREAD
I'd like to see us win, and qualify for the knockout stages. But I think Sunday against the Mancs should be priority, i'd rather see us win the league and prove we are the best in the country, grab a couple more world class signings and have a better crack at the CL next year.
Although, if we do wind up in the Uefa Cup, I wouldn't look down on it either, would be a pretty good chance for some success in Europe.

To be fair that is a very under-appreciated participation sport that is taken for granted but often can't be beaten!!SteveO 35 wrote:...

The business end of the Europe League isn't too bad but the dross that's going on at the moment with the Spuds playing the Bosnian Wheel Tappers and Shunters XI, nah, not for me.
Re: DORTMUND CL GAME THREAD
3-1 Dortmund, they will overpower us (again) although it won't be as one sided as the scoreline suggests.

Re: DORTMUND CL GAME THREAD
Absolutely - if you offered me a hammering tomorrow night for 3 points on the weekend I'd bite yer hand off. Tbh I'd be delighted to get a point at Old Trafford, looking forward to watching some good football tomorrow but not expecting much and it won't mean anything in the grand scheme of things.Revgoon89 wrote:I'd like to see us win, and qualify for the knockout stages. Re: DORTMUND CL GAME THREAD
Klopp says that Mats Hummels is "97.5 per cent" unlikely to play for Dortmund v Arsenal tomorrow. Wenger-esque precision.
