Tickets to increase by 3% next season

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

My bet is that 90 % of the ticket price moaners on here will carry on paying anyway.....in which case you reap what you sow

easily 90% and the unfortunate thing is that there will still be people to snap up any that aren't renewed.

I will admit that I will renew despite whining about prices and there's folk that sit near me (that make you look a smiley faced overcheerful Arsene lover) who whinge from start to finish but readily admit they will renew despite any rise in prices.

The biggest issue is that the club announce it very early in the season, when we are top, talk about taking advantage!! Normally it's announced in Feb isn't it? They know full well we'll be 4th at best at that time so any rise in prices will look outrageous. I'll be surprised if there is another club in Europe that fleeces fan loyalty like Arsenal PLC do. Disgraceful.

I stopped with Cat A's when they introduced the 3 category system two years back. There was a leap of about £12 in price for the cheapest ticket when that came in and for me a minimum of £62 (soon to be £65, £68 after fees) just didn't represent value for money especially considering the state of the team and the fact that we got dicked in pretty much every category A game bar spurs.

I haven't been to Category A game for two years (except Bayern at home  ) and I now watch those games in the Twelve Pins and I don't miss it at all. I still get the "matchday routine" from going up there, in the vicinity of the ground, and for £30 you can have a great afternoon drinking beer, singing, shouting, swearing. It's beltin' good fun. I'm not sure why people are so reluctant to stop going to the stadium. Worried that people won't think of them as some kinda superfan?

totally agree with you Dan

I have only been to one category game at the Emirates (the Milan game when we were already 4-0 down)
that convinced me that I was being treat like a complete mug and I now stick to category C games and cat B if I can get lower tier. anything else I dont consider value for money

sadly the club know that enough will pay the increase so they can get away with it

It's a life sentence, with no chance of parole.

Unfortunately, we also have to pay our own bed & board in the form of these ever increasing ticket prices.

yeah. we go up The Arsenal, its what we do.

and the club knows it.

one day though when we're a mid table club and the ground is half full, it'll be the same 26-28000 that has always gone, or our kids.

may be then the ticket prices will be a a bit reasonable compared to our wages - my first season ticket in 94 was 130 quid btw...

One day fans in this country might realise that it's actually them who hold the power. It'll probably be too late by then though.

They proudly announce "only" the 3rd ticket price rise in 9 years (usually announced at the end of the season but now they do it when top of the league) but the booking fees and huge silver membership price hikes go unmentioned in the press.

The following day the Gazidis interview with the Telegraph on his family's fight against apartheid is printed.

Distasteful timing all round.

boycotting matches like some do already for category A is the only way to stop the club increasing prices.

however as the ground continues to sell out the club can as usual do as they like.
they could actually increase prices even more at the moment and STILL sell out.

There's an American "Sports" point of view which says that if the ground is selling out really quickly, then you aren't charging enough  seems to be the current thinking.
I'm a Red member and can do maybe 2 cat As a season at most and 2 cat Bs and the rest is C. There seem to be fewer Cs or is that my imagination? All London clubs are at least B so even Fulham and Palace are £48 a ticket. If I want lower tier, have to wait for exchange and hope someone's selling one as since the young guns idea, lower tier tickets are gold dust for Reds.
Prob just one cat A this season as wanted the Bayern game but the Arse website auto logged me out just as I got past the blue line so didn't get a seat. £80+ saved. I'm nuts.

BSM organised it. Surprised Reg Niseth hasn't been on plugging it.
