Press conference cancelled tomorrow

You would love that wouldn't you? Just so you can prove some sordid point about how you should 'be careful what you wish for?' Do one with your negative shit.

Had a feeling for a little while he might take the France job after the world cup, in time for a home tournament in 2016, as a sort of managerial swansong, and possibly try to combine that with some sort of move upstairs with us - ambassador :| , director of football  , transfer negotiator :worried:, etc. Assuming that wouldn't be considered a conflict of interest. :?

Gazidis' words a few months back were along the lines of "I'm sure he'll stay with us" or something, didn't necessarily say as manager. Admittedly I'm clutching at straws, and trying to second guess anything that slimy bastard says is probably futile, but could definitely see that appealing to him if he is gonna "move on." Hopefully the Ferguscum/Moyes situation would have made everyone think twice about him lingering on like the proverbial fart in a lift, but even if he decides not to stay on as manager you can guarantee Ivan & Stan Burgundy will offer him any role of his choosing in order to keep him with us in some sort of capacity.

If he is such a good manager I'm sure one of the other big teams will be in for him then.... :rubchin:
He has turned down PSG, Bayern and England in his 18 years at arsenal. So yeah, I'm sure some big team will be.

I would love to know how the situation arose where he actually had the chance to turn them down ? The man was under contract at all times so surely the man who (correctly) kicked up a stink over cashley meeting the chavs while under contract to us, wouldn't have been a hypocrite to meet other clubs without AFC knowing would he ? :rubchin:
Cant make my mind up whether all those rumoured approaches by Madrid, psg etc were all just bullshit to threaten the fans/club, or if he is the type of hypocritical pr*ck that would allow illegal approaches  :x

He already got busted on that front when pictured secretly meeting Baptista in Brazil, he stated that "at some point you have to meet the player"

Walking at the end of the season /his contract will let him go with the smallest bit of dignity he has left.

Be careful what you wish for :barscarf:

Next year if United come back as I expect they will and Liverpool build on this season's work then we'll actually have to do more than just scrape above Spurs to finish 4th.

I'm actually starting to believe he's going to leave...and its cheering me right up!!
I think him moving up stairs could cause problems but I'd take it..although I don't see that we owe him a job.. just bloody retire man!!!
We may well struggle with a new manager for a bit but I still think a new man with new ideas, given time and support will get us back to what we all ultimately want and thats challenging for trophies.

I might even join in with "one Arsene Wenger" as he parades the FA cup around wembley in May.

you think a new manager would struggle with this team and 100m spending power to do better based on what? I'll ask again why is top four important to this club? money, and financial power to make commercial deals. where does the money go? I don't measure success by finishing fourth anyway, it's by competing for honours and at least taking the right steps to achieve that

I've no problems with the concept of taking one step backwards in a bid to then try and go two steps forward - what I don't like and wont accept is this deja vu acceptance of where we are with no aspirations to do any better and I feel that it is an embarrassment to a club of our size to view top 4 as a trophy

If Wenger was to leave this season I still couldn't see it being announced two days after a 6-0 drubbing at Chelsea. He will want everyone to know that it's on his own terms and he still views his job as successful, this would be too much like an admission of defeat.

I also don't see the big deal about this. I do hope that I am wrong though :-)

It is probably trying to keep a lid on the questions from journos because we know that none of them will be about the Swansea game.

I know that Arsenal Action are on Twitter spouting things like 'Arsene told players that he is stepping down', but it is probably Twitter bollocks.

Why do people make up shit on Twitter? Is there some sort of financial incentive for doing this, or maybe the self-importance of being some sort of a modern day soothsayer?

It mostly stems from the tabloid rags "exclusives" they give it all "you heard it here first", 99 percent bollocks and the odd 1 in a hundred comes through so they can claim they were the first to break the story

If it is all just to avoid questions about the Chelsea game then it is an absolutely pathetic stance by Wenger and the club

I do think its quite likely we will go backwards for a season or two, on the other hand we might go straight up and win the title and CL and Wenger will say 'I built that team'

But if we don't, I don't care - it's the lack of hope that's killing us I reckon.

Three weeks ago, pundits n press declared Wenger not good enough at CL level, yesterday we saw another heavy defeat from the top three, so we're not good enough there either.

That leaves the FAC which until a few weeks ago the AKB's JCL'S dog walkers etc said wasn't important any more....

So basically the only thing we're risking is Wenger picking a 'weaker' team and accidentally getting to Wembley.

I'd risk that for a chance to do better in the league or avoid these humiliating defeats.

Absolutely agree 1000% - I don't believe for one second that Saturday's result will convince him to stand down but to skip the post match conference on Saturday, and to use the "bus is leaving early" excuse is quite frankly utterly embarrassing   This is another major gripe that I have with the way our club is run nowadays......premier league rules state that we must attend these press conferences and for the club to allow it's manager to blatantly sulk and break rules like this is not good enough. The club is all about pr nowadays and about growing the brand but yet because we lost the game we allow the manager to hide and not face the world that we are so trying to sell our brand to ?? I will bet my life and my kids lives that had we of win on Saturday he would have sat there all day beaming in front of the camera's and would probably have been the last one out of the stadium

Some will no doubt defend his hiding on Saturday as a spur of the moment thing born out of utter frustration/disappointment or whatever but how can we defend or explain cancelling tomorrows news conference ? Are we not gonna man up (copyright LDB  ) and face the media until we are happy again ? Is the manager afraid of the questions he is gonna have to face about Saturday ? Other managers have been known to bottle out on occasions too but at least they go ahead with the press conference and send in the assistant manager but of course le cock holds such a tight grip on everything and everyone at the club that it is either him or nobody that attends these things :x

I can only imagine the press conference is cancelled to avoid the obvious questions that are going to be thrown at him about Saturday.. " The bus leaving early " do me a favour Arsene /Arsenal..please do not insult my intelligence again.
He did speak to BBC and he did look bewildered, his answers were predictable.
