Couldn't agree more. Podolski up top. Is Kos back for this one?

Why are people jizzing themselves over pod, he's nowhere near as good as rvp even as a front man. Lukaku is also miles better imo.

Lukaku is also miles better imo.

Not sure if you've noticed but rvp no longer plays for us and Lukaku and his mates just dicked us in a massive match.

Why wouldn't you try him up top? Giroud can't be arsed at the moment, is slow as a glacier and Sanogo isn't ready.

Its comparing the quality we have with what we had, and what is possibly available in the summer, no?

Giroud is fucked, both mentally and physically. When he's isolated up front as he has been for the last few months the ball keeps coming back at us.

Are you seriously trying to tell me that pod has the pace, strength and power to be up front on his own, put in a team performance and score goals to boot. I would say the answer to that is an emphatic no. :banghead: :banghead:

We have to hope we can scrape a top four place, right now winning a trophy would be a bonus rather than a given the way we are playing. Then wenger (or his sucessor) has to deal with getting a pacy striker. Lukaku ticks all the boxes although I cant see him coming to a club thats playing europa league football next season.

pod has more than giroud in terms of the attributes to play up front. for instance he has the intelligence to know that when you receive a pass with your back to goal, there is no fucking point in passing it back every time. you need to be strong, selfish and quick to make the most of the space and giroud is paceless, weak and low on confidence.

Funny I've never seen this when he has ventured into the middle. Its like accepting medocrity, when we dont have any other choice.

Pod has been specifically instructed to play on the left side of the striker, just because he is supposed to be a front man, that doesn't mean he shouldn't put a shift in on the left. There's only one other Arsenal player that I can remember leaving our left back more exposed than pod time and time again, and that's Arshavin.

Podolski has been dire every single game he's played up top. I would start Sanogo in this. Yes, seriously.

if we play pod as a lone striker we can have gnabry out left and no more exposed full back.

You know sanogo is a bit of a headless chicken, but he has pace which stretches defences and opens up play for others. For me it would be a much better option than playing pod as a central striker who would just give us the same shite as Giroud has done lately.

The Ox is a must to start every game now in the run in.

Pace, Pace and Pace again!!!!

I wonder if all these peeps who rate Pod have seen him play live, you will then realise how much of a lazy fucker he is.

Sanogo should start and that is not a comment on his ability but a comment on the mediocrity that is available to us. Pod playing off him would be better than a clinical scorer playing on the left wing.

Agree about strikers. Also is Gnabry fit or what? Seems to have been rewarded for impressing on his opportunities by being flung back into obscurity. Could desperately do with his pace and directness imo.

That this is the 'least worst' option is reason alone for Wenger to be dragged, kicking and screaming, out of his office.

I understand what you are saying about what we had but this thread is about the match next weekend so all that matters is what we have to work with now so its pointless talking about lukaku or rvp.

Your comments originated in you responding to me having podolski up front v wigan - if you check it again you will see that I put podolski up front as part of a FRONT 2. I agree with you that podolski is not capable of playing the lone striker's role but that wasn't what I was suggesting
