We have Aaron Ramsey, ergo, we'll win.
Re: FA Cup Final - Arsenal vs Hull
I hope and fully expect us to win handsomely but I'm afraid the FA Cup has gone the way of the League cup in terms of stature. In my view Wenger has to start his best fit 11 and try and show some respect for this trophy. The fact we are playing Hull and the quarter finals were made up of the likes of Charlton, Hull, Sheffield, Sunderland, Wigan, Everton and a second string Man City means that Wenger can not claim this as any sort of redemption.
I'll watch it, I'll be happy for the win but it's nothing compared to the excitement that used to come with a Cup Final.
PS IF, IF - Wenger starts Sanogo and we do not win he should resign on the spot - having said that, i would be quite chuffed if the lad scored in a 1-0 win but i'd rather he came on at the 80th and put one away to make it 6-0.

No doubt the FA cup has sold its soul since manure opted out of the competition to play in the world club championship a few years back; but how can you dismiss that charlie george moment, alan sunderlands afro sprinting across the wembley turf, andy linighans broken nose goal, marc overmars vs newcastle, "its only ray parlour" and we love your freddie scoring screamers vs chavski, "USA, USA, USA " daylight robbery vs the mancs.Swifty wrote:I hope and fully expect us to win handsomely but I'm afraid the FA Cup has gone the way of the League cup in terms of stature. It kinda pisses me off to see the comments above, the FA cup is still a trophy worth winning, wish the haters would just disappear for a week. It would be nice to have another special moment to add to the list then you can carry on whingeing all summer because I wont be on the forum.

Hull are shot. They are spent. For the last few weeks they have been absolutely woeful and a top quality team might be able to switch on and up a gear (or two) when the mood suits them, but this hull team will not be able to do it. The fact that they are missing long and jelavic is huge imo cos the back up strikers are absolutely shit.
This will be a comfortable win for our boys and, as is always the case, they will play like world beaters against mediocre opposition. Arrogance when 2 up will cause a few hairy moments but we will recover and go on to record a comfortable 3-1 win with ramsey as motm

Re: FA Cup Final - Arsenal vs Hull
I fucking hate the way the FA Cup has been devalued because of the poxy boring CL.
I love the FA Cup, love cup final day and if your team is actually in the final then it's the best day of the season for me (bar the day you win the PL obviously).
I'm putting a tenner on Ramsey first goal and Arsenal 4-0 win.
Actually dreamt this the other night!
I know we've bottled finals before and anything can happen in a one-off game, but there are less mongs playing for us now and Hull are knackered both physically and mentally. We should beat them.
Ozil for MOTM. (also in the same dream!)
Will be watching it with my 9 year old son and it's his first final (he's too young to remember 05) and he's hyper about it. Can't wait.

Dont forget Flappy almost cocked yesterday off a simple shot !
Expect him Abou and Yaya to start thus further undermining the fans and the FA CUP
We will win I hope but it will be hard !

I'm not dismissing the past I am expressing my disappointment that the majesty of the past no longer reigns. I'm one of the few optimists on this forum but let's be serious Arsenal second 11 v Hull is hardly 1979 is it?nut flush gooner wrote:No doubt the FA cup has sold its soul since manure opted out of the competition to play in the world club championship a few years back; but how can you dismiss that charlie george moment, alan sunderlands afro sprinting across the wembley turf, andy linighans broken nose goal, marc overmars vs newcastle, "its only ray parlour" and we love your freddie scoring screamers vs chavski, "USA, USA, USA " daylight robbery vs the mancs.Swifty wrote:I hope and fully expect us to win handsomely but I'm afraid the FA Cup has gone the way of the League cup in terms of stature. Re: FA Cup Final - Arsenal vs Hull
If Wenger wants any kudos from this game he needs to be the leader in removing some of the tarnish from the cup and that starts with playing his best side. If we start with the reserves then that means we don't value the trophy, and the players don't. I can't imagine anyone in our first 11, having not won anything for years, not wanting to be involved.Herd wrote:Dont forget Flappy almost cocked yesterday off a simple shot !

Having re-read, i think you need some comprehension practice - maybe during your summer break.nut flush gooner wrote:No doubt the FA cup has sold its soul since manure opted out of the competition to play in the world club championship a few years back; but how can you dismiss that charlie george moment, alan sunderlands afro sprinting across the wembley turf, andy linighans broken nose goal, marc overmars vs newcastle, "its only ray parlour" and we love your freddie scoring screamers vs chavski, "USA, USA, USA " daylight robbery vs the mancs.Swifty wrote:I hope and fully expect us to win handsomely but I'm afraid the FA Cup has gone the way of the League cup in terms of stature. Are Germany playing Poland tomorrow ? Thought I saw ad for it on BT Sport, maybe its next week. I think Wenger will play a full strength side for this, I would hope that he knows that he cannot fuck this one up. I have a good feeling about this one, I have a good feeling for Poldi and Ramsey on the day. I had a dream or was daydreaming after the Spuds game in January about Santi holding the cup with red ad white ribbons on.
The FA Cup is a fantastic competition, Cup Final day is a magical day , obviously more so if your team are in it. The FA are responsible for devaluing the FA Cup, not foreign players or foreign managers. The FA allowed Manchester United , the then Cup holders to withdraw from the competition in 2000 to play in a tournament somewhere in South America (I think). Apparently the senior United players were furious about this , maybe they should have refused to go to South America. It was a shocking decision that undermined the trophy. The cash cow VT was also taking the gloss off the Cup aligned to the overly drawn out Champions League.
Saturday is our day as supporters, forget our justified complaints about Ivan, Stan and Arsene. Park them for the day and get behind our club. This is about Arsenal FC and our proud history in this magnificent competition.

Re: FA Cup Final - Arsenal vs Hull
i think what has really devalued the FA Cup for me is the switch to 5pm.
if the TV companies want some more atmosphere and a maximum TV audience then why not play it in the evening like the CL final?
having said that I can't wait for next Saturday - hope the team really gets up for it and we win 3-0.
can't see it though - I am expecting a nervy, poor quality match with Giroud pulling funny faces after each of his misses. hopefully Ramsey can nick one and we can win 1-0.

We will win and all will be rosy in the Wenger garden
Surely...surely we can't fuck this up. They have lost 4 and drawn 1 since getting to the final. Surely??

We need a hero in this final. Someone who will end our barren run. My money's on Rambo.
