Wenger says he will be back at Arsenal next season but he got 6 goals in 21-odd games last year playing mostly as a winger so nobody can realistically judge how good he is, unless you watched Costa Rica's CONCACAF qualification run.

Now shurrup. 8)

Love to see Campbell in the squad next season, see how he does in the UK.
From what little I have seen of him he at least deserves a chance to stake a place in the team.

Like to see Sanogo go on loan to another Premiership club or Championship club, at least somewhere where he will get regular competitive football, he has played only about 20 competitive games in three seasons.
He is as raw a player as we have seen under Wenger, we can see how is doing by the end of the season.

We need a quality squad not just players to make up the numbers. Our squad last season included Sanogo Bendtner Ryo Diaby Kalstrom and Park who started a grand total of 2 league games

Couldn't agree more but history tells us more go out than come in at the Franchise that was Arsenal FC !

We need more global branding ,more T-shirt sales, players are an afterthought ! :barscarf:

Campbell has demonstrated that he has some class - goals at the World Cup and in Europe show there's something about him.

Alas, we'll probably loan him until someone bids £4m for him and then he'll be off.

Sanogo I fear will hang around like a bad smell for years.

Campbell has been ok but I struggle to see him as being the guy we need. There's nothing special about him = yes, he could be in the squad but he's not the quality we need to rise above where we are now.

Campbell is coming

Don't agree - yes he has looked impressive on occasions but that was mostly with his hold up play and power. Class is demonstrated with top level skill and/or unbelievable goals and Campbell hasn't got that in his locker as things stand.

The real crux of this situation, and I know that it has been mentioned before, is that Campbell's contract has only 12 months left - the club (ie wenker  ) has to either risk playing him and only offer him a new deal if he shows enough in the first 3 months of the season, or they have to offer him a new deal to tie him down and keep him out of other clubs grasp. The problem with the first option is that we run the risk of losing him to another club if he impresses, but the problem with the second option is that we would yet again be taking a shot in the dark and offering a new contract to a guy that hasn't earned it and I would not support that decision at all

But u don't have to offer them 4 year bumper contracts either Augie .
I bet he isn't on big wages so you re-contract for 1 year extension the carrot being you bump the wage
up for the coming season which he should be happy with .

The if hes no good u can loan out for the remaining year or sell him ,if hes good u pay him !

Agree - think there has been a bit of an over-reaction to his performances, he has impressed with some aspects but I'm not convinced he has the all-round game to succeed at us.

Definitely a better option than Sanogo, although I would prefer a menacing looking scarecrow to Sanogo. Might as well give Campbell the chance this year in and around the squad as we'll never really know until he gets that opportunity. But realistically we don't have room for more than 2 senior out-and-out strikers when we only ever play one up front so this would spell the end to any forlorn hopes of a striker being brought in.

As with almost any post with the word "overreaction" it could probably be levelled at 1989

But I was also referring to what I've heard on TV and seen on sites like BBC.
