Doesn't mean a thing if we start the season with Arteta in midfield

Sanchez is the player we should have payed 42m for last season, not LÖLzil
Re: Alexis Sánchez is a Gooner
Give it a rest mate. Özil and Sanchez will both get the best out of each other.spendsum4uckingmoney wrote:Sanchez is the player we should have payed 42m for last season, not LÖLzil

Or number 18 ? I remember a few years ago some striker (ivan zamorano I think) went to a new club where his favoured No.9 shirt was already taken so he went with 18 and put a little + between the 1 and 8

What's done is DONE - FFS can't you just be glad - or even that emotion called Happiness (as in being "HAPPY") that we have signed a Truly Word Class Player who could very well contribute to our challenging for more than just the VT 4th Trophy!???
If we have paid £32million for Sanchez rather than £42 then surely that means either wenger will be willing to use the rest of that wonga to add to the purchasing of another player ?

We need a javi Martinez or schweinsteiger in midfield to get the best out of both of them - I cant help feeling that we will go with the easy option again and sign khedira instead

Just imagine - Wenger's last signing pre Sanchez was Kallstrom!

Last season WE all moaned about having a 42m rolls Royce player having nobody with pace up front with pace to run onto his passes. Now we have a player to do that so we need to ensure that we have a quality ball winning DM who will regain possession and give it to our gifted players to do their thing - it's not rocket science man

Re: Alexis Sánchez is a Gooner
Fair enough we may need that player to prosper as a team over the course of a season, but I don't think it has anything like the impact on Ozil/Sanchez you're making out. It's hardly like our attacking midfielders are feeding off scraps with possession and territory.augie wrote:OneBardGooner wrote:augie wrote:1989 wrote:Give it a rest mate. And regarding signing Schweinsteiger or Martinez from Bayern, it wouldn't be fundamentally different to picking up scraps from Barca and Madrid. We are not going to seduce Bayern players and then strong-arm them into selling, not in a fucking million years. The only way we could realistically sign either of those is if the club was keen to sell.
If we're wanting to sign class players, there are a few clubs on similar footing with far inferior resources and background who we could possibly try and cajole into selling us their one or two top talents - clubs like Dortmund and Napoli. We're talking about a very limited group of players. Otherwise it's either go begging round the big boys or don't sign class players.
