Re: weekend fixtures Aug 23/25

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Hilarious that sub looks like damage limitation for Brenda.
You were saying? :D
Point still remains, he isn't Sheringham he won't win you the league, anyway Zabaletta's knee unfortunately takes the praise for the goal.
Was just laughing at the fact he scored and nearly got a second about 2 minutes after your post. :D

Victims got f**king schooled

Best bit, Victims paid £20million for Lovren and he was culpable for 2 goals

So much for sorting out the defence eh Brenda

What's scary about City is that they only need to turn up for 10 or 15 minutes to win games comfortably.

They have a knack of riding out sluggish periods, blowing away opponents with a great period of dominance and a goal or two and then comfortably controlling the game thereafter.

While Maureen and the Russian have been there usual brash selves, the abu dhabians have built a serious squad.

Every position is covered by at least 2 good to World class players. Take off Silva, bring on Navas, take off Dzeko bring on Jovetic. Take off Fernando bring on Fernandinho. Not even the Russian and Maureen can boast that.

Only the chavs can stop them but the chavs are great at stopping you playing but when it comes to creating sh*t they have just Fabregas and Hazard.

Fabregas will decline in the spring. He did it with Barcawhores as well as us. Hazard is still hit and miss. More hit than miss but still...Silva or Hazard, which would you rather have.
The league is Shitty's to lose and at least the semis of the champions league. Anything else should be a sacking offence. They are too well stocked for anything else to be anything but abject failure.

Despite not playing particularly well at times City won that game comfortably. Liverpool look orgainised at the start but in the end City were playing with them. Liverpool's best moments came from uncharacteristic sloppiness from City. Look at City's options upfront. That is why they will be minimum top two next May.

The team that wins the league will have a world class striker getting 20-30 goals and probably a second striker getting 18-22 goals. City have it, United possibly have it but are complete shite everywhere else! Chavs are good in most places except strikers....beyond Costa anyway.
As for Arsenal......weak as piss up front, no cover at the back and full of attacking midfielders......4th place may not even happen this year, it could be Wonga's greatest failure.

Had the misfortune to watch Villa-Newcastle on Saturday as I was up in Geordieland. I actually enjoy watching Newcastle up there as it gives me a bit of interest in watching shit football and to be fair they were solid and kept the ball okay but fuck me did they lack creativity and inspiration. That Cabella fluffed every chance they got, Pardew's ego preventing ben Arfa from playing is criminal as he would be a fucking godsend for them.

On the train between Durham and Newcastle on Friday night an old Geordie drunk and a pissed Glaswegian bloke got into a shouting match. And when I say shouting match, I mean yelling, spitting and threatening each other in a full train carriage. The subject was whether Henrik Larsson or Alan Shearer was a better footballer, and it was fair to say that neither could form a proper sentence never mind structure a coherent debate. Got a 30-second clip on my phone but with the shouting and accents I'll be fucked if you can understand a word

We'll see what justice looks like when UEFA ransack Maribor and kick them out of Europe because their tea-lady's husband is an illegal immigrant.
