old chants

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

To the crappy Jim Reeves song "Distant Drums", and aimed at the oppo supporters......

"I hear the sound
Of distant bums
Over there
Over there

And do they smell?
Like fucking hell
Over there
Over there"

And there was the old favourite " You're gonna get your fucking heads kicked in" :box: :D

I liked the hijack of the scouse song "In My Liverpool Home".

In your Liverpool slums
In your Liverpool slums
You look in the dustbin for something to eat
You find a dead cat and you think it's a treat
In your Liverpool slums

:D

Saw him play for us when I was a kid, with Kelsey , Strong , Eastham and little Irish winger a kind of forerunner of George Armstrong , the tiny Joe Haverty.

Some great old chants on here that I remember well

The one I will NEVER fucking miss however was that "Here we go" shit that everyone sung for a while and Everton even decided to make into a record

"Here we go, here we go, here we go.....Everton are the best we all know"

The songwriters must have been up all night working on that one

Eastham was my dads favourite ever player until Bergkamp came along.

Agreed, it was dismal.

The worst modern one has got to be ......"(insert semi-pro clogger team name here)..we're by far the greatest team the world has ever seen".

I think "he scores when he wants" aimed at any 34 year old journeyman striker in the lower leagues is the modern day Here We Go

Speaking of; did you see the Villa/Bournemouth game?

The Holte end was singing that particular gem....

"We're Aston Villa, we score when we want".

I hope it was ironic, I really do.

And he was! Not sure it was so accurate when Brady left and it became ''Rixy is better than Hoddle'' though :)

The old chants were so much better though. I cant stand most of what gets sung today. That ''ohhh Santi Cazorrrrrla'' drone really gets on my fcuking nerves.
