The worst possible result would be anything that gives the delusional Wenger hope for the second leg

You missed out the word "again" mate.

It can't be any worse than 28 August 2011 (Man Utd 8 Arsenal 2) but whatever happens it won't be Le Wanker's fault cos it never is!
Yes of course you're right mate.
In the context of this season though, with the new-found optimism and supposed progress we have made. The fact we are "competing" on three fronts, these two legs against Barca will bring a few people back down to earth with a massive bump.

The emperor will be exposed as being completely naked yet again.

We got hammered by Bayern earlier in the season (5-0?) and it was water off a ducks back because everyone knows Bayern are awesome. The same will happen with Barca; if we get thrashed, it's expected as Barca are doing that to most teams these days. I think they even hammered Real Madrid away this season.

I just hope it's a close tie as I'm sick of being out of these knockout games by the end of the first leg

Posted this elsewhere a while back but I know Arsenal supporter(s) who have said that Arsenal have nothing to fear providing we get a fair and strong ref in the second leg. I honestly think it could be seven or eight goals for them over the two legs, our score will be immaterial.

It could get very messy at theirs, 4 or 5 nil easy. Over both legs I think they'll be minimum 4 goals ahead on aggregate. Cech needs to have a worldly in both games if the score is to be respectable.

4-0 to them.
Since when was Bellerin a liability and not the best right back in the league?

WTF are you talking about?

No choice but to play deep given Mertesacker will likely have to play given Gabriel is out injured. Its a shame, because Mertesacker is a useful premiership defender for his height and presence in the 18 yard box. But Barcelona dont even cross the ball, so Mertesacker is simply redundant in this game. His strengths will not come into play, and his flaws are there to be exposed. I would even go as far as to play Chambers next to Kosicleny, but Wenger wont do that.

We beat Bayern at home, and held Barcelona 2-2 and beat them 2-1 last two games we played them at home, so I see no reason why we cant win or draw.

Although lets face it, a hiding at the Nou Camp awaits.

For me, the biggest game this week is the trip to Old Trafford - thats the one I want to win.

More chance of plaiting fog than that happening Sid. We'll concede at least 3 and this time round there will be no 'moral 2nd leg victory'. If we don't get past Hull in the cup replay then you might as well go on holiday until Watford come to town at the start of April and the bullies will get the heavy roller out once more

I'd rest cech for this because whoever plays in goal will end up with lumbago what with the amount of bending down and picking the ball out of the back of the net  :?

I think we will end up losing 8-2 on aggregate and tbf I'd take that right now, we look absolutely woeful of late and after the hammering by them barca *word censored* we will be in freefall, fifth places awaits.....

Should we have a poll to see who we think will be quoted in Tuesdays Standard?
The theme will be 'we have nothing to fear from Barcelona', or 'we can win the Champions League for Arsene'.
Theo has already had his say recently, so has Per, I think it will be Ox.
Last year it was Gibbs who had the Arsene theme, on the evening we played Monaco.
