I still fail to see why so many seem to be convinced by elneny - I'm not saying that he isn't good enough, but I haven't seen enough to suggest that he should be a starter for us :?

Re the signing of xhaka, I too am hoping that at 6ft 3" he is the powerful physically dominant midfielder that I have been crying out for since PV4 left. I would prefer a more established and proven top quality DM, but as long as he is strong in the tackles and intelligent and disciplined enough to play the position

On YouTube he looks good (but so do I) but at 6'1", with 40+ caps and experience as captain of a Bundesliga team he seems to fit the bill.

I used to dream of us signing Javi Martinez, though he's been injured so often recently that I don't think I'd take the risk now. Hopefully, Xhaka can (!?) emulate him.

Without wanting to sound too positive (I know it's frowned on in these parts), we needed a strong DM and we've got one early.

Now for a lethal striker and 'don't fuck with me centreback!

El Neny is bang average but because he's doing the simple things well enough he's being praised as the MF hero we've been missing. Don't see it at all. There is nothing about him that shows any type of elite quality.

Yes, this statement comes out from every new signing. This is probably one of the most important term in their contracts.
Xhaka: "Arsène is a legend for me. I often had him as a manager on the Playstation. He's a gentleman. Full stop."

Xhaka: "Arsenal contacted me first almost a year ago. I was speechless when Arsène Wenger called me."

viera was certainly capable of finesse a complete allrounder who has never been replaced...fair enough almost impossible to replace such a player.

Now we need a Wright type signing and a Steve Bould type signing. (not the assistant manger version but the player that joined us in 1988.)
petit was a fairly cheap converted defender! nothing like the petit signing at all!

hopefully has as good an impact as petit though

Haven't seen him before but from what I've seen said about his style I'm looking forward to watching him.

Excited to see him turn out for us - just like I was hugely excited to see Ozil and Sanchez.

The reality is that if this is to be it - as with those summers - our title challenge is over before its started.
