Certainly a home defeat would ramp up the pressure on Wenger.....

For a couple of weeks... and then he'll get another result against poor opposition and the Wenger-sheep and the media will hit the reset button and all will be cosy again and us that doubted him will be called "fickle" and "not true supporters" etc etc etc... and then he'll lose a big game and the media will question his ability.... and then he'll win a couple of nothing games and the same media will call Arsenal fans "ungrateful" and "fickle" and before you know it it's May and we are 10 - 20 points off the champions, but we'll have scraped that mythical 4th place slot and oh dear God let the fucking world end please...

Dunno so much... Pulis, odious as he is, also has Wenger's number in a way and WB have not been that bad this season. Having said that, if this were a game to go top we would fail dismally, but it's not, it's more important than that, 4th place is under threat. The troops need to be rallied....this is where Wenger earns his money.....therefore should coast to a hair tearing, turgid win. Past weeks failures consigned to the scrapheap, along with the past decades. Fingers are already hovering over the reset button. :barscarf: :barscarf: :barscarf:
Now this I can agree with :barscarf: Spuds will prompt them on :banghead:
Under Wenger we only winning the league when Spuds are in first place :barscarf: :barscarf: :barscarf:

Absolutely scandalous treatment by the mods here, merging the threads to use the inferior title. You won't please Stuart and the others here who enjoy more info in their game thread titles 8) I shall be writing a strongly worded letter...

Seriously though. Why ruin our Christmas watching this shower of shite? We all know where the season is going. Judge him in May... special circumstances... not following the rules... leetle beet jaded... mental stwenff... Look, uhhhh- BZZZZZZZZZT.

Why can't the wheels come off & STAY off?? Instead of losing two on the bounce why can't we pick up 4 or 5 points out of 18...have a real meltdown where Wengers position becomes untenable. Instead we have the same scenario over & over & over..... A dare we whisper it, "assault on the title", 2 quick losses on the bounce and the plummet from 2nd to 4th, then the 2/3 game rally where we cement 4th and have the odd week in 3rd, before things hot up in the latter half of the season where we adopt an "over my dead body" attitude as the pretenders try steal our VT. Of course that type of dedication takes it's toll so we get blown out of the FA cup and the CL along the way. Smiles all round as CL football is guaranteed again for '17/'18.

Just so predictable, so tiresome. I would love to see us finish down in 8th place. Start rebuilding next year where we can concentrate on domestic cups instead of the distractions of Europe which is absolutely beyond us.

it is because of this very reason why Wenger is still in a job.
it is also why I will never say Wenger is a bad manager...yes I hate him and wish he would go, but the irritating senile :censored: never fails big time enough, and I suppose there has to be a certain skill in that :rubchin:

We have more money and better players than the smaller clubs. THAT is why we have these little unbeaten runs, it has nothing to do with Wenger. Decent teams beat us, some of the weaker teams who have managers
with a bit of nous often outsmart us, the ones we do beat do not have the players to contain us. When we actually feel like playing that is.

I believe the team we have now could be turned into real title contenders with a decent, take no shit manager. Wenger allows his little petals to get away with murder, if he went to, say Watford or 'Boro for example, they would get relegated. .

The wheels only ever fall right off if we seem to be in contention for 1st..if the VT is under threat we always put a run together.

Anyone know if the calendar year trophy is still in the offing?

It is frustrating that the wheels never stay off long enough to get TOF out. We are 'too good/rich' to drop out of the VT race, but never good enough for a title with his sheer lack of management.

I'd argue that the epic collapse to the 2010-11 season was the worst run we've been on, as well as the start of the following season (and the one after). Even that shower of shit run was never enough to boot The Old Fraud our on his arse though :censored:

I'd like to know this too. I'd think that seeing as our collapse has happened early (or late), I'd imagine we're bottling the CYT this year.

Until we know for sure, the Barry White records are on standby 8)

The problem is that we are good enough to beat around 80% of the teams we play, it is only against the better teams where we fail.
This means even if we lose a couple of games as we just have, there is always a run of games where we will go unbeaten (i.e. the next 5 or 6) and the reset button gets pressed.
