By rumours, are you talking about what I suggested would happen earlier in this thread ? I don't think that I have ever started a "rumour" ........ you have no idea how proud I am feeling right now 8)
I did actually read it, now I am trying to remember where, ah it was that Daily Telegraph shite, so stop taking the credit and carry on sweeping the shop floor....
Augie for 4th place... :gettowork:

Why do I get the feeling we'll be looking at Everton in 5/6 years time thinking here's what we could have had. Think if he fucks off there to join up with his buddy he'll want to revolutionise them like what happened at city.

Meanwhile the only scenario we're likely to get here is with all the focus on Kroenke/Usmanov, shit for brains sneaks through the back door and signs an extension when nobody's looking.

Then we start next season with Kroenke AND Wenger :banghead:

Isn't Kroenke going to court soon over moving the Rams to Los Angeles. A loss and he might just see the need to sell. Damages are estimated around 1 billion dollars , Coincidence ?

If I was a betting man I would wager that the usmanov bid was leaked by either wenger or kroenke -

1. Wenker knows that there is a very real chance that tomorrow there will be another protest calling for his removal, so what better way to deflect the possibility of that happening than by getting the fans focusing on a potential takeover bid. All you have to do is look on here to see that this subject has taken over for the last 18 hours, and fans who were united in wanting wenger out, are now dividing into pro and anti usmanov groups

2. kroenke might be going public in the hope that it will either distract the fans from the contract extension he has given wenker, or distract them from the probability that wenger is on his way out - kroenke isn't a fool and will not that there will be blowback whatever happens, so it makes sense to deflect

The public debate will inevitably be mischaracterised as whether the club needs somebody to come in and pump money in.

It doesn't. The problem with Kroenke isn't that he doesn't pump his money in - the club earns an absolutely staggering amount in revenue and generates more than enough to compete at the top level without a sugar daddy.

The problem with Kroenke is that he's on a mission to stockpile as much cash as possible because it will all go towards increasing the capital return he'll get when he comes to sell his shares.

Perfect timing for the leak since season ticket renewal is just around the corner. Time to get all those who were thinking of not renewing back on board with the chance of a maybe takeover. next story will be about the war chest.

Its clever timing by Usmanov. I still think most of the millennial generation would be forgiving of the "regime" (be it Kroenke, Wenger or both) all the while we've been qualifying for the Be All and End All. My eldest lad (17 shortly) for example, whilst wanting Wenger out is so obsessed with finishing 4th that all the anger dies down once that's been achieved and doesn't resurface again until the next New Year collapse and bumming in the last 16. The protests will really gather pace with a 5th place finish and a loss to the Chavs in the final. Whilst it is a complete pain in the ass and I hate them with a fucking passion, that hate for the regime is intensified by what has happened down at the Shitole this season. Usmanov knows that if he creates enough noise now, then even those that would normally be forgiving will be stepping up the heat on Wiggy to sell and for Shit for Brains to go. Not saying he will sell, but for the first time it might get to be like the Glazer situation (hopefully without the completely distasteful stuff) and become much more high profile in the media.

Whilst my lad's generation are praying for the Miracle of Middlesbrough, I couldn't give a flying fuck and can't wait to see how the club manage to announce Wenger's new contract on the back of the Europa League and a Wembley bumholing. I can't bring myself to cheer against us, but if those two likely things happen I can't wait to see how Wiggy and SFB dress up this season. If Gazidis does grow a pair and fuck off I hope he exposes the real reasons why......I'd have more respect for him then that at any point that he's been employed by the club

It came out because the stock exchange had to be informed of the bid . However it is good timing for all the reasons being stated , however it does make Kroenke the bad guy if he doesn't match the next offer from Usmanov who is now likely to say that he will stump up for new players and push the club forward.j

It is interesting that the bid was apparently made a couple of weeks (maybe even a month ago) yet it gets announced just before our last game of the season. Is this just to deflect attention away from Wenger?

Every now and then Usmanov makes a few supporter-friendly noises knowing full he doesn't have to come good on them. If the bid is accepted, great, but I think it will cost a lot more than what he is bidding to tempt Kroenke.

Our shares are not publicly listed so there was no need to make a public announcement. Why does Kroenke have to match next offer from Usmanov?

This is a private battle between two major shareholders, that's it.

A single share cost around £15k each about seven years ago. I can only guess they've increased in value since.
