No Arteta on the sidelines for this game,he's been tested postive with covid
Lucky him, escape any criticism, even though he'll pick the team.....Xhaka first name on the team sheet, Odegaard ahead of ESR, the 2 players who fought tooth and nail not to even be at our club. Arteta has enough credit in the bank anyway.....even an absolute shellacking will be excused as "what do you expect, it's City" What we'll get now is "See what happens when Mikel isn't there"

Well, one highlight will be Xhaka getting shown up for the clumsy, plodding carthorse that he is. I expect Odegaard to be anonymous as well, he won't have the time he needs to be effective.

A heavy loss will just get dismissed, we don't expect to beat the frontrunners, that is the mindset at the club, 4th is The Holy Grail, even among the owners.

Agree totally - convenient that he is missing for the game that he is sure to get bent over by his former boss
So he got covid deliberately to avoid this game .

So he def has co-vid then ? As in you actually seen him sit the test ? Most football fans believe that clubs are taking the piss and fudging the figures of positive covid cases in their clubs, but I guess everything our club says is 100% factual

i realised today after the Artetademic that i have no idea who his number 2 is.

Wenger had Pat Rice and then Bouldy but I have no idea who Arteta has.
Could anyone enlighten me?

Thank you in advance.
Albert Stuivenberg took Arsenal training today in Mikel Arteta’s absence.

He will also be the man on touchline against Manchester City on New Years Day!

There is zero excuse for getting played off the park, nor conceding 3 or 4 goals........Brentford only lost 1-0 today and we are no longer the side that lost to them on the opening day. There is no excuse although I think our midfield is going to get overrun, with Odegaard getting bullied and Xhaka getting by passed like he's not there, putting the back four under relentless pressure

It's amusing to see folks being disappointed with Arteta missing the game not because the players will be without their manager playing against the best team in the country but because Arteta will not get criticized the same way as he would have been if he was available in case we get thumped.

I love how you say there’s zero excuse then go on to contradict yourself by explaining exactly why it could be 3 or 4 goals… our midfield!

Citeh will beat us by whatever score they want really  Theyve given far better outfits than us the purple bit the last few months :| Remember the Basel bulge will start so were playing with 10 straight away..well 10 v 12 when you take into account what his contribution will be  Im not convinced by White in the slightest :| he will probably get fingerfucked like a Sharon at the back of a nightclub to quote DB.Im going 1-3 or 1-4 unless they get bored at 1 or2 and just play about with us like a cat does with a dead mouse/bird its caught in the garden. As seasons go so far were doing ok,i fancied us to be 8th-12th at the start of the season.Weve got a lot of big tests upcoming i just hope when Citeh give us a fisting it doesnt turn into a run of defeats.

Telegraph Sport understands other key members of Mikel Arteta's coaching team could also be absent for the game against Manchester City amid concern about the spread of Covid at the club. #Arsenal https://t.co/aU7HzC8LmI

Test results over the next two days will reveal just how many of Arteta's coaches will be missing.

But sure its all 1 big conspiracy isn't it

Having a bad christmas ? I dunno the answer to that but I am totally fcuked off with this whole covid shit. In american football now they the players and the league have come to a joint agreement where clubs will no longer test players temps when they arrive for training UNLESS they have symptoms, so basically because the effects of this variant are so mild, players can train and play if they are a symptamatic (sp  ). In a nutshell they are now treating it as the flu that it is, and yet over here we are treating it like some sort of deadly plague

Yesterday my eldest got a positive covid test despite no symptoms - tbf that probably played a part in my comments about pep's cone boy. I dont believe that he faked the results and was on a rant ( ) that was born out of a frustration that this guy is having the type of luck that defies belief. I stand by my assertion that he is not a good manager or anywhere near a good manager, but he is having a run of victories that is gaining him much acclaim to the point that the quality (or lack thereof) of the opposition is being ignored

anyway apols for my comments yesterday
