Wonder what time they'll get their penalty at
Hmmm, let me see.... the ref to give them an extra 5 minutes if they are losing or drawing, so probably the 98th minute. Similar to LiVARpool.... :censored:
they will be kicking us all over the pitch and diving as soon as they get in the box...

We need Odegaard and Zincheko at least

To be honest Red, this game is the first real test so far this season and will go a long way to indicating whether certain players really have improved. So far the evidence shows that Odegaard, for all his artistry when we're in control and he has time, disappears in the big games and when the going gets tough. Many of us on here, maybe most, we're very underwhelmed with him last season and we need to see that he really has grown into the team and can perform when the chips are down. Let's hope he can and that he does so on Sunday (if he is fit to play of course).

Similarly, the new darling of so many of our supporters, a certain Granit Xhaka, will also be up against it for the first time this season. I said on another thread, that these are the games that pass him by, other than his fuck ups when he does have the ball and his card/penalty magnet tendencies. Utd are poor at the moment, but it's never easy at their place and certainly not for us and centre midfield is always key in battles like this. Our weakness in that area has been exposed time and time again and given our reluctance to recruit and strengthen that dept (even though we know that Xhaka will be a fixture regardless of who we bring in), I very much fear that our centre midfield will do for us again. :(

Oh and it's pretty much fuck all to do with who is injured and who is available, because we're sub par no matter who plays there...we needed better.
Yes your leaning on an open door as regards xhaka Retro...i actually despise him...thats not rational of course but thats how i feel :D

Centre Midfield has been a disaster area for ages, cant believe he did not recruit in the transfer window

As for Odegaard yes also agree with your comments....but in certain games this season he has shown terrific quality....but like you will be interested to see how he fares in the heat of battle at Utd.
With a full strength team and our confidence high and Utd not convincing think we woud have got at least a draw....as it is very worried about the outcome...called the Villa game right at 2-1 think this will be 3-1 to Utd (probably getting at least 1 pen)....praying im wrong

Yep, agree with all that Red and just hoping that we get the psychological impediment that we seem to have at OT out of our heads and come out all guns blazing. Perform with the attitude that we had in the first half against Villa and we ought to get something from this.

Mind you, we have to score when we are dominating games, which is a weakness with us. We ought to have gone in 3-0 up at half time against Villa, but at 1-0 we end up in a nervous dog fight in the second half, especially because we always concede. You don't get away with that against the big boys.

Still fingers crossed mate.

Up the Gunners!

Someone on Le Grove pointed this out for the weekend......

Paul Tierney is the ref for our game, he is from Salford, Manchester!

Lee Mason is on VAR, he is also from Manchester!

How the fuck is this allowed? Are either of them likely to give us anything bearing in mind they and their families fucking live there!!!! I thought it was not possible for a ref to host his home town team?
He was the one at the spuds away game last season gave them a soft pen and sent off Holding. I think there are too many things going against us for this match. Injuries, Ref, and that we can not seem to beat them away no matter how bad they are. 2-1.

I always hate this match away . They could usually put out a team of girls (ha ha women’s footy is still shit ) and they would usually beat us there . So mctominay will kick the shit out of sambi and get away with it . Saka will receive the treatment too and they will beat us 2-0.

Easy 3-0 for United I fear. Ramsdale out injured and Matt the Yank making his debut in goal, no midfield and a half fit KT3 at the back. God help us.

Our squad is being held together with ducktape and chewing gum so fuck knows who plays in this but we'll more than likely lose and have more of the squad crocked by the final whistle :suicide:

With Tierney reffing this we are already up against it, I remember his reffing the game against the scum at theirs last year; the match that decided who got 4th and he was not even up to Sunday league standard and yet they kept him as a Prem ref... he really was BAD.

Then you've got Dirty Sanchez the chopsy diver who will get right in his ear as he does all refs.

AND

Arteta will use the injury list as an excuse when they rape us.

5 Games in and the injury list reads like a Motorway Crash

Edu and Arteta have played the fans like fools... yes they got in Jesus and Zinchenko 2 very good players, but we NEEDED a DMF more than any other player/ position and then they said this and that about they will "try" and sign more players .. :blah: :blah: :blah:

Why bother bringing in Jesus & Zinchenko if they had no intention of getting in a player or the players we so desperately need if we are genuinely going to try for the Top 4!? I mean why the fuck bother.

I fear you're correct about this. Too many times in the past where we could've taken advantage of our competition and their results we fuck it up. I think we'll fuck this up tomorrow.

With VAR and Fergusons retirement, the integrity of the game has been restored.

I think most of us have that exact same feeling mate! :?

And after yesterdays Reffing and VAR decisions we are justified.

Big game today and huge opportunity to put daylight between us and the rest

Worried about injuries, worried about being fucked over by a weak ref and incapable VAR team and worried we won’t turn up as usual.

Looking forward to it but also dreading it a little.
