And what circumstances are they? The fact that the game roughly coincided with the 50th anniversary of an air crash which you can bet your bottom dollar that at least half of their players couldn't give a fuck about?khalid_red wrote:Man City beating Man Utd is absolutely great. Of course, it is not nice in the circumstances it was done in but Man Utd players have only themselves to blame for that. I think the retro shirts were a nice touch.
United v City
That's exactly what I'm saying. It's all a fucking excuse. Most of those players couldn't give a flying fuck about Munich. Do you reckon Nani was consumed by emotions today? What do you think Anderson thought about it?
It's all bollocks. The disaster was exactly that - a disaster which should never be forgotten. But if you ask me, using it's 50th anniversary as an excuse for a defeat is in very poor taste.

I agree that losing because of the anniversary is no excuse.rebel gooner wrote:JUST WATCHING SKY NOW AND CARLOS WHATS HIS FACE IS SAYING,, OH IT WAS THE WRONG WEEK TO PLAY MAN CITY,, PLAYERS WERE TIRED FROM DOING 50ANV WORK AND THE MEDIA WAS A DISTRACTION

Maybe they care, maybe they don't. I just said that Man Utd ruined the whole occasion for themselves by losing.tonysaunders wrote:And what circumstances are they? Had United won today it would have been "In the spirit of the Busby Babes" and "they did it for the young players who perished" blah blah.
We would not have heard a word about the pressure of the day and the emotion. It's all bullshit.
United have tonked a few weak Premiership hoof it and hope teams (Newcastle and Pompey) but today they came up against an 'European' style of play and looked woeful.
I'm sure if I would prefer to have a points gap at the top, whilst it is tight there is less room for complacency, I think I am almost talking myself out of a lead at the top of the table - am I mad.
Rob.

Yes, I'm afraid you are. On the plus side, I think we're all going to slip into lunacy a little bit the longer our involvement in this title race goes on!robburne wrote:I'm sure if I would prefer to have a points gap at the top, whilst it is tight there is less room for complacency, I think I am almost talking myself out of a lead at the top of the table - am I mad.

I think Chelsea fans can say that "our involvement in the tiltle race goes on" but we should say "our leadership in the title race goes on"tonysaunders wrote:Say what you mean, why don't you Rob?robburne wrote:Had United won today it would have been "In the spirit of the Busby Babes" and "they did it for the young players who perished" blah blah.

oh yeah,
, as a pessimist on here all year i now find myself having a strange feeling,, 5 point lead ( hopefully ) 13 games to go,, i hate saying it as i still dont want to jink us but this just might happen,,but there wont be any celebrating unless we are 4 points clear with one game left,,
oh please let it happen

oh please let it happen

Just had a thought. Title race is getting interesting, and although I'm not going to get ahead of myself and I'm not making predictions, I thought it'd be interesting to compare fixtures with the other teams.

lot of work gone on there but as much as i would like it to come thru im afraid football doesnt always work out the way you think,, chippy done one of them a couple of weeks ago and most of his results didnt come true
but the dream is a live and id rather be top and be chased then second or third and doing the chasing
