Before the game I was telling anyone that would listen that 0-0 at home is not a bad result. After the game and THAT miss by Adebayor I fear for the second leg. It reminded me of Henry's miss against Valencia that would have made it 3-1 in the first leg - I fear we will be haunted by it.

The last time we needed a win at the san siro we beat inter 5-1. milan are a different kettle of fish, but we can win it. they will need to attack, and we can catch em on the counter attack. I must say eboue did well tonight, and i hope all you eboue haters will at least give him the benefit of the doubt for his performance tonight. big phil also had a good game, along with hleb and fabregas who ran the midfield. how ade didnt score at the end is beyond me, but if we play in the san siro like we did tonight, role the quarter finals.
His dive was embarrassing and I still don't give a benefit of doubt until he stops these stupid antics. He's a good player but he needs to stop diving, then the fans might start to like to him.
im sure you go guys would have a different opinion if he had scored the winner tonight. diving is part of his style of play, hopefully he will cut it out his game, and you lot will have a better opinion. im hoping he will score the winner at the san siro, then you lot can say something good about him for once.

If diving is part of his style then I'll leave it, thanks.

Ronaldo use to dive a lot, so much that it was getting embarrassing. Since the World Cup he has stopped and it has improved his game and his credibility. Hopefully Eboue will follow the example. Demzy, I am confident that he has the talent to be good enough for us but he needs to start showing it in the best light as possible.

I'M SORRY BUT I CAN'T AGREE WITH THOSE OF YOU THAT ARE TRYING TO CLAIM EBOUE HAD A GOOD GAME!! :? BY WHAT FECKING CRITERIA? :?

THE GUY MISSED AN EASY CHANCE; HIS CROSSES AND GENERAL PASSING WAS POOR; HE HARDLY EVER RAN BACK INTO OUR HALF TO GIVE SAGNA ANY DEFENSIVE HELP, HE WAS PLAY ACTING AGAIN WHENEVER SLIGHTLY TOUCHED, AND IN MY OPINION HE BLATENTLY DIVED IN ORDER TO TRY AND WIN A PENALTY.

TOMKINGSBURY'S ANALYSIS OF BOTH EBOUE AND THE TEAM'S PERFORMANCE ECHOES MY SENTIMENTS AND HE HAS PROBABLY SUMMED UP THIS MATCH AND OUR CHANCES OF QUALIFYING GOING INTO THE 2ND LEG THE BEST AND MOST REALISTIC OF ALL. I ALSO AGREE WITH HIM THAT MILAN WON'T NECESSARILY COME OUT MORE IN THE RETURN - ESPECIALLY INITIALLY - AS THEY WILL WANT TO KEEP THINGS TIGHT AND WILL RELY ON A PIECE OF MAGIC FROM KAKA OR PATO, OR A SET-PIECE FROM PIRLO.

AS I EXPLAINED ELSEWHERE, I AM HOPEFUL RATHER THAN OPTMISTIC THAT WE CAN GET A VICTORY OR SCORING DRAW AT THE SAN SIRO AND, AS HAS ALREADY BEEN POINTED OUT, A SCORING DRAW WILL SUFFICE FOR US TO QUALIFY. HOWEVER, IT WILL BE A MIGHTY HARD TASK AND - UNLIKE TONIGHT - ARSENAL WILL GENUINELY HAVE TO BE AT OR NEAR THEIR BEST TO STAND A CHANCE OF PULLING IT OFF.

Apparently my comments repeated three times!

I did not do that intentionally.

After I tried to post my comment, the screen showed an error message saying the comment failed to post.

I merely tried to post it a couple of times more before getting a message saying successfully posted.

If anything, I think Milan might play even more cautiously in the second leg seeing as they know that conceding a goal will require two from them to progress.

They'd be more than happy to get a single goal out of nothing through the match or to wait until the very end to grab the win. Experience will be their strongest aspect - I don't think they'd even fear extra time and the possibility of penalties.

Saying that though, I think we can go there and get a goal.

Cagey game. One of those games where I felt we missed RVP. I didnt think Eduardo would be that much of a worry for the Milan defence and he didnt turn out to be.

Is 0-0 enough? Not unless we play out of our skin in Milan. Milan are the favourties now. We will have to score and I dont see us scoring in Milan either with the same squad as today, maybe Rosicky and RVP will return and give the team a boost. We wont get too many chances there and we will have to take them. Ade has to be a lot lot better, he was supposed to terrorize the Milan defence, he was a big disappointment. I dont really think Milan would sit back as much as they did last night, they took the game to the manure last season at San Siro. No English team has beaten Milan at the San Siro. It will be a hostile place, but we will have to go there with no fear.

Lat night - and onto the second leg

Post by essex womble »

Eboue has two problems other than his attitude/diving. When he played full back he would go wide and cross the ball from the byline. Now Sagna does that job, forcing Eboue inside. This put him in positions to shoot, sadly he lacks both composition and accuracy ay the moment. I accept that he has experience as a defender however in the few minutes that Walcott was on the pitch he made more telling contributions, a shot on target and the best cross of the game that Adebayor hit the bar from.
Perhaps its academic because Rosicky may be back for the second leg, but against Milan's technically excellent but aging defence, Walcott's pace might be a very useful weapon.

I think we played well until the final third of the pitch Ade ran his heart out but Eduardo was wasted out wide. Why play 4-5-1 at home?Their keeper had no great saves to make all his saves were from shots from distance.I thought Milan came to contain us and left AG job done.
Its going to be fucking hard in Milan. They have been there done it and have got the t shirt. They have nothing to play for but the CL so they can rest players before the return we cant do that.We will have to play much better than last night to get through.
And please can we buy Kaka in the summer

of course its enough. we can run them ragid at the san siro
after last night we will have all the confidence in the world and will know we can defend against their ageing strikers and get at least one goal.

plus robbie v should be back!!!

imagine how good we will be then. also he gives us the freekick threat.
i honestly cant remember the last time we had a direct shot from a freekick and that can make the diff in tight champs league games.

What makes you think RVP will be back for Milan? He needs to play at least a couple of games to play in Milan and he aint going to play in the next two weeks.Rosicky maybe fit but RVP wont be

Lets face it Milan are a very good team. They are not European Champions for nothing.
