Atmosphere

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Suprised to see so many bugger off early before the lap of honour, but knowing some of these plastic fans they would've left early had we been parading the title around! the atmosphere at times was really poor too. When a few kicked in with a chant or two you tried your best to help out and back them up but in the end it just faded out once no one got involved. I know the game was shit and a bit of a dead rubber but all the while I was thinking come on, at least show some enthusiasm and back the boys for what in the end has'nt been that bad a season. When you look at the state we we're in at the start of the season, people we're writing us off for a place in the top four!

Electric atmosphere? What a joke! That was the worst atmosphere all season! The best atmosphere I heard there this season was the ManUre game, and even that wasn't amazing.

Today was just like a pre season friendly.

Did not detect much atmosphere.
It as a dull game, end of season style.
Was a warm muggy day which did not help either.

There was a waterbottle fight in the tunnel at the end but hard to see much of it from where I was sitting.

Did nayone else stay to watch the Junior Gunners' matches at the end?

Couple of those kids looked skillful, one in the away kit had a Van Persie like "shoot without backlift technique", they can only have been about 8 or 9 years old.

Sign him up!

The atomosphere yesterday was awful, there were long periods when it was so quiet you would have though you were at the theatre. It was like a pre season friendly. We need new songs that last more than one verse. The atomosphere at most games this season has been poor

I think we need an anthem  !

Maybe one of our newer forum members could suggest some possible songs?

I was sat with Wayno and when a couple of lads in front of us swore in frustration at the piss poor game and there were a couple of old ladies in front who told them if they swore again they would get them thrown out!

The atmosphere was shit in other parts of the ground like I said earlier, just meant it was electric in Block 19 at times. Sorry if i didn't say it right it's just a game I'll always remember because I'm young so I haven't been to many games and that was the most our block sang that I've been to.

I think, in fact I know the Dale Winton chants were about non other than our very own Mr Ben Roberts of the Herts & Beds Supporters Club, I understand that he and my nephew Liam amongst others were giving the toffees some shit for most of the game and in rsponse they decided our mr Ben looked like Dale...I'll let you decide
Cheers Wayno!!

At Highbury we had the Northbank and Clock End. The West side also made a good fist of it when they got going. Liverpool has the Kop and....? At the Grove, we have the REDaction area, but that's tucked away in the corner. There are also some "singers" next to the away fans, but quite a small group. Me and my boys love to sing, but people look at you if you do (some of the younger kids even stare!). If the club seriously wants to address this then THEY need to do much more to expand the REDaction area - possibly making it acceptable to stand etc in the whole of the North end behind the goal? I think they should address this at season ticket renewal time i.e. would you prefer....etc. They won't. I'll still be sitting next to the same old farts that I've had the last 2 years!

I also think its a travesty that the poor older JG's have to sit in the Family Enclosure rather than take their place in areas of the ground where their youthful enthusiasm might actually be appreciated!! I think the club should offer concessions throughout the ground!

it is a small group next to the away fans yes, you know what the club is like, they won't give a shit what we say, if every person in the north bank stood in protest and refused to sit down they still wouldn't care, all they'de do is chuck em out get even more corporates in. Something has to be done. Why don't they just bung all the corporates up in the east and west uppers and in the club levels and leave the lowers and north bank uppers and clock end uppers to us?
