BAN CALO

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

On a personal level I have been on here less than usual of late and posted a lot less than usual. My reason for that is because I am pissed off with the amount of drivel on here of late and while calo is by far and away the main culprit he isnt the only culprit. I agree totally that it seems that a few newbies have joined with calo (or maybe the timing is just a coincidence) and it appears to me that their is a general train of thought running through them to stir the shit

I understand 100% the opinions of those that are against censorship but at what expense to the general forum ? So many have expressed concerns lately and surely we cant all be wrong ? Calo's expulsion proposal has been a thought running through my head a lot in the last few days but, even though I am a member on here for 15 months now, I dont feel that I am a long enough member on here to suggest it. I know many on here believe that I talk crap (only sometimes though  ) but I'd like to think that even they would acknowledge that my ramblings are 100% based around my love of The Arsenal and that I am not on some piss take.

As I said before calo is not the only culprit on here as far as I am concerned. The amount of offbeat/non Arsenal related threads on here lately often outnumber the amount of Arsenal threads which makes no sense to me. While a few are occasionly quite funny there really is only so many of them that you can take (I'm not talking about the educational tit threads mind  ). As a forum this place should always be welcoming to new members but I would suggest that those newbies should in turn respect the workings that has made this forum THE FORUM to join 8)

No way, I say live and let live.

I was all for banning Pancho at the time, but banning people should be an absolute no-no on a forum like this. If he gets on your tits, ignore him. If he tries to wind people up, ditto. Irrelevant posts and threads are no reason to kick someone out - it's not as if we all stay "on topic".

If all those who use racist language (including the term, "****") get banned, then I might listen to suggestions for trolls like Calo to be booted out. Until then, I see no reason to ban someone who is plainly a gooner, even if he does post some stupid stuff. The forum doesn't just exist for rebel, augie, gus or me, it's for anyone, and it should stay that way.

Have to say after thinking about it this afternoon I have mellowed on it and suggest that he is simply had a word with and watched like a hawk!

It won't be my decision to ban the troll but I think the powers that be know the feelings of the majority here.

Up to him to toe the line and if he doesnt then he had fair warning!

I have had a word with my dog and we are both in agreement that Calo should be allowed to stay 8) I am sure he is a wind up merchant but we should all learn to rise above it. If you don't like what he posts just ignore him. He is not the only new member who seems intent on trying to get a reaction by posting complete and utter bollocks so I think a ban would be unfair.
