Drug Taking In Footy…

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

I've read some shit before and this is certainly up there.

Not even gonna go into how misguided it is
Its not shit, nor is it misguided; far from it!

You may disagree with his opinion, but rather than thinking from a selfish and greed point of view, Quartz is more concerned about the well being of the player, and how his life may be affected.... and that's something I cannot criticise... in fact, it's comendable 8)

My view...

It's fairly long winded, but if I had those photo's, then I'm fairly sure I would have sold them to the press without too much soul searching.

His addiction would be out in the open, and that would force him to face his problems head on... with the help of the club, and his friends and family. Yes, it "could" push him over the edge, but with the amount of support he would get, I would like to think that more good would be done from getting his addiction out in the open, than the alternative... of turning a blind eye.

I understand both sides. I could of easily of sold them for a few grand, but what does it achieve in all honesty?? Alright id make a quick few quid, but theres other ways of doing that.

Might be idea to chat to Tony Adam's clinic, see if they can do an "intervention" and sort the guy out.

What IS proven is that Juventus used performance enhancing steroids and other drugs...though I have no idea if they have been in our game to the same club endorsed extent.

If you had been around coke addicts like I have you would know what I wrote is anything but rubbish, and you would not have dismissed what I wrote with your comments.

Sure, there 's the guy who has the odd snort when he's out on the town and acts the big man, but if people are a slave to the drug, then it's no joke for them or their families.

Ask Paul Merson if he enjoyed being addicted to booze and coke.
I've seen people addicted to many things coke being one of them not a mate or anything. But dying and young family without a dad bollocks, come on. How many people die from coke. Only you could turn a light hearted bit of a joke thread into a serious don't talk about this subject one.
No Goonarmy, I did not say don't talk about it so don't put words into my mouth that I didn't say.

But plenty people die of coke.

And people addicted to it get their brains fried, and get sick depressions and suicidal thoughts.

So what I am saying is it might tip this player over the edge.

Equally it might not, he might just laugh it off and carry on.

But it has to be considered.

Merson'ss press conference when he owned up was a heavy scene.
geezer he saw a bloke doing a few lines FFS. don't turn it into some moral crusade

I hope it was just a few lines, done now and then.

But I am right to point out that if it is more than that, there are family who would be affected.

with respect you turned it from a geezer doing a "few" lines to asking the poster to get in touch with the player and TA's clinic. a bit OTT

I dont know if he's addicted either, might be a one off. But what else does a footballer do with his money, £50-£60 aint nothing for a gram of coke to them. I reckon 50% of footballers are on it at least, it dont take long to get out of your system and they can just pay whoever off. Drugs is the biggest money industry in the world.
All im doing is saying iv got pictures of him doing it with his bodyguards around him. Should of kept my north n south shut
