well it was closer than i anticipated. we played with effort, especially from TV5, but there was four players which i think really need to consider their future: Ramsay, Song, djourou and Gervinho. Ramsay just back heels the ball back to the opposition player or is very slow to react when he has room. Gervinho is usually fast but very slow today and gave away some good chances. Song just fouls and also gives the ball away...Djourou is just Djourou.
There are others as well like Arshavin which needs to leave as well. I cant believe the pundit wankers on sky are saying that it wasnt a penalty. Richard arm moved towards the ball as it came to him, regardless of whether his hands were by his sides.
Wenger needs to buy, and he has just admitted that were short...that usually means that he needs players.

Dont think we deserved anything but defeat in that game, could have had a penalty. Clear though they are a far better team than us currently.
If Wenger wasnt holding the club back we could challenge City, we have a good core of players here constantly let down by dross and poor management.
The lack of game time Frimpong and Chamberlain are getting even from the bench is wrong. And the signings of Benayoun and Park, if they arent getting on ahead of Chamakh and Andy Shaving what is the point?

What game were you watching? I thought he was a class apart today miles better than his midfield partners and along with Shezza our MOTM today.FatChaz wrote:apart from nearly getting sent off and messing around with possession by putting pressure on himself, he didnt do much else. a very overrated player on this forum.1989 wrote:On the plus side Arteta was fucking class today I thought.

+1 for each.Henry Norris 1913 wrote:arrogant c**t. he can take his ugly wag girlfriend, his bags of cash, his nice boy persona and fuck off to the championship. He should have been hauled off at half time, completely ineffective all game.
One thing I always liked was how our players never throw the toys out when they get subbed unlike the likes of City and Chelsea. It looks like that is gone as well.
Why not have a go at Wenger then? He makes the calls. Or is he too cowardly and would rather whinge at Rice like alot of AKBs do.
Fuck Walcott, let Chelsea etc have him. Completely average player.
Asides from his one game against Barcelona (as a sub no less), he has to my memory never really shown up for big games. He disappeared entirely for the first half. Who the fuck is he giving the management stick?
Gervinho was good today, I don't know why everyone's hating. He was constantly on the ball and made up a lot for Walcott. No final product but that was the story of the team all day.
Ramsey didn't have a good game, showed a lot of signs of inexperience, but it shouldn't be forgotten he's like 20. He's not going to be a game breaker, not for a little while. I think Arsenal fans have gotten wayyy too spoiled by having a prodigy like Wilshere, it makes it easy to neglect that players like Rambo are still really young.
On that note, Miquel was not mentally ready for the game and looked very nervous. That's what you get for not having adequate cover at fullback. Yes we're unlucky to have all of Sagna, Gibbs and Santos hurt, but we should have known Gibbs was going to be crocked in a week and we shouldn't have entered the season back in the summer with only two decent starting sidebacks (3 if you include Vermy or Kos, but they're not natural players in that position).
Arshavin was atrocious and has to be the most over paid player in the world right now, his performances are incredibly lazy and disinterested and he almost looks as if he's protesting against the Arsenal by blatantly not trying. Send him packing, it's bad for morale and it's unacceptable to put in that kind of disinterested play - both to the fans and the manager.
Overall City played pretty poor by their standards and gave us a real chance to take 1 or even 3 points today, but our players weren't up for it.

i was going to ask you the same question, because he may have been better than Ramsay but he certainly wasnt 'fucking class'. poor discipline and very slow to react.1989 wrote:What game were you watching?.FatChaz wrote:apart from nearly getting sent off and messing around with possession by putting pressure on himself, he didnt do much else. a very overrated player on this forum.1989 wrote:On the plus side Arteta was fucking class today I thought.
nowhere in your post can i find anything that justifies Arteta being fucking class today. he was anonymous for most of the game, and when he had the ball he messed around with it and made life hard for himself and the team. He does this in other games and its getting quite frustrating - but he was the very least of our problems today that's for sure.Demun210 wrote:I'd have to disagree, he was slow to start today sure, but once he settled down he was decent in the midfield today. Man City gave us hardly any time on the ball, so I thought he did well in the circumstances to keep us building attacks from midfield. He's done alright for us this season, I have no complaints as far as he is concerned.FatChaz wrote:apart from nearly getting sent off and messing around with possession by putting pressure on himself, he didnt do much else. a very overrated player on this forum.1989 wrote:On the plus side Arteta was fucking class today I thought.

People have a short memory on Walcott. I'm not defending his performance today which was poor but he's one of our only big game players.
Barcelona at home, scored. Chelsea at home, scored. Scum away, scored, united away, scored. Chelsea away, scored. Not to mention both home and away in our champions league playoff games.
Like I said, frustrating today but definitely a big game player

Just shows how people see the game differently.Bring Back Pires wrote:Thought we gave it a good go - certainly better than many of our other away performances in recent years.
Walcott was terrible, and fully deserved to be subbed. Ramsey was also very poor, and needs to cut out the flicks and tricks that failed on every occasion.
If we had another 'super quality' striker to partner RVP, I suspect we could've got at least a draw.
I thought Ramsey had a very good game until the last 15 minutes when he looked a bit tired, but earlier he was putting himself about and passing well.
Agree Walcott was poor, apart from one good shot that forced a save.
Prefer him not to show his dislike of being subbed in public, but at least it shows he wants to play and has passion, but to often he fails to get into a game.
Nothing wrong with RvP's goal in my opinion.
Cannot see how Arshavin can continue with us past January, he is very ineffective now.

yea i agree, Arteta isnt the worst player we have and he does score goals now and again, very little impact. Ramsay and Song though...eughIrish Gooner wrote:Mixed feelings on Arteta, just dont think he provides enough defensively or in attack. Just one of those tidy players, good but not great.
Ramsey though, fucking hell cut out the back heels you idiot.
