He is out of contract in the summer but still. The worrying thing is if we value him at £6m we won't pay a penny more and someone else will inevitably swoop in.
Remember that we tried to prise away Everton's best player when he was extremely settled there on the penultimate day of the transfer window with a bid of £5m.

Yet more rumours this morning that Lumpard could be joining us. I really do hope that this is sensationalist, red-top bollocks or merely his agent trying his best to get him a new deal with the Chavs or some other greedy bastards in the Middle East or Russia
