Caught ITV highlights of this game during their round-up programme last night. I give MOTD a lot of stick for their misrepresentation but watching the ITV package last night I'm genuinely not sure their cameras were at the same game I was. Failed to show the chance where Walcott rounded Lloris and hit the side netting and our few early chances that flashed about a foot wide but showed a load of not even half-chances for them and then suggested it was an even game decided by the odd goal at crucial points..
Martin "stupid jumper" Allen's contribution was to say Spurs had two great chances.. :D :D
Yes, from the highlights they showed it looked an evenish match, they neglected to even show Walcott's curler that flashed just wide and would have made it 3-0 but hey ho - oh btw is the dvd out yet ?

Also did anyone see some of Sherwood's comments after the game? Basically said they didn't disgrace themselves, he was proud of them and they proved they deserved to be on the same field as us :? :? :? Probably the old 'Arry tactic of lowering expectations to become more favourable for him but surely having finished 1 point behind us last two seasons their fans are going to be seriously pissed off that he's so delighted that they were dicked by a team missing 6 first-team starters (Szczesny, Gibbs, BFG, Ramsey, Ozil, Giroud).
The ITV highlights show was completely unwatchable. At one point the audio skipped back so some lower league managers interview was replaced with commentary of the game before. Just pure amateur hour. As you say it was even worse then MOTD in terms of completely misrepresenting the game, if it weren't for the fact that this game was played in its own time slot I'd have thought they'd just looked at the stats and decided to paint it as an even game. Atrocious, even makes BTSport look good.

Sherwood's comments just show the difference between the two clubs. When we were edged out 2-1 at the swamp in the league last season we were spitting feathers and they were hailing their supposed "shift in the balance of power". Turns out we should have just been proud that we shared a pitch and didn't get completely embarassed on the scoreboard  :barscarf:

Yeah and apparently receiving the ball with your back to goal surrounded by defenders with the ball close to your body should be a nailed on goal

They created nearly fuck all and we kept our defensive discipline superbly and attacked with pace, purpose and skill. The great thing about watching Arsenal now compared to much of the last 8 years is that there is a real confidence that we can hold a lead and we don't always concede when under pressure in a match. In some years we'd have needed to score 4 or 5 to be comfortable in that match.

Re: WHEN ARSENAL SMASHED THE SCUM 2 - NIL

Post by OneBardGooner »

Although Santi's goal against the scum yesterday was One Sweet Strike and the assist/pass from Gnabry a thing of beauty...Rosicky's goal was my favourite of the two, it was great to see Rosicky's hard work, closing down and chasing down bear fruit....since he came back from his long lay off through injury he has gradually been improving to the point (at least for me) where when he comes on I know the tempo of the game is probably going to increase by a few notches..

Throughout the game yesterday he was chasing and harrying the scum defence and it finally paid off...he kept his calm and didn't bottle it.....and after he chipped the Gk and ran off celebrating you could see how much it meant to him..just as it did to us.

just wanted to put that out there. :| 8)

ps: Can't we change the title of this thread to something like - Arsenal Smash the Scum

I went to the game so didn't see the coverage but from what I hear they spent the whole post-match analysis saying how dire Spurs were and how comfortable it was for us - which was clearly the case. So for ITV to then use their own highlights and present an inaccurate contrasting view is bizarre.

Had Mrs TG tape the game and watched it again just now and Monreal had a really good game up against Lennon and Walker.

There were one or 2 nasty bits from the scummy tw*ts :box:

Dumbele would have been sent off if Jack had gone down in a heap after his backwards head butt
Nogoalsdado leaves his foot in on Jack
Bentaknob clearly stamps on Monreal and is lucky he only catches a finger. None of which was punished by Clattenburg.

Listening to the summary afterwards Roy Keane is hilarious "I didn't expect them to win, it was a typical spurs performance they always let you down"

You can quite clearly hear us singing Sherwood is a goner and the camera pans on to young Timmy and when we started singing you'll aways be sh*t, the camera pans to their fans.

Good typo! If his team continue to be outplayed by others as they were by us you could be right!
