He can't force Barca to sell to Arsenal if Arsenal aren't willing to buy.I am just saying stop making this just about Arsenal. If Fabregas wants to come he would. We accepted less than we could have got for him because he left us with one bidder.
If he really 'loves' us then he will put Barca over a barrel, shouldn't be too much of a stretch for him doing that. He's had practice.
Seeing as everybody is suddenly believing and quoting fleet st rags, then I'll join in.
We do not have 1st refusal,we have to be informed if someone bids and then we match the bid and he's ours. If the bid and the money being paid is ridiculous (Cesc Fabregas is not worth 200k aweek,no one is,not even Messi or ladyboy), then we can decline.
That's what we did,if the prodigal wants to come home then he tells Sandro Roswell, I am a Gooner and will never join the chavscum. Then we are talking and I start to believe he really 'loves' us.
Until then player a has joined team b because team a can't afford them fees and them wages......and in other earth shattering news turns out Monday follows Tuesday and water is wet.
Re: [POLL] Should we buy back Cesc Fabregas?
Seeing as we have a resident panel of Cesc Fabregas contract experts, does anyone actually know if Barca ever fully paid us up for the bloke to start with? The accounts from a year or two back revealed we were still owed fees from other clubs - heavily rumoured to be Barca.

Like I've said previously, no one really knows what is going on until it all comes out as fact. I'm not looking to get into a slinging match of who says what and arguing over rumours and hearsay. I've just read plenty of times that we have first refusal on Cesc, meaning that if Barca are planning on selling, we have to be given the option to buy first. That may be true, it may be total bullshite, who knows.topgoon wrote:Jonny_Gooner wrote:Not if Arsene doesn't want to bid for him! I just know that if that is the case, then we would be idiotic not to go for him before Chelsea get the chance to put a bid in for him, as I genuinely feel that if he was given the choice between us or Chelsea he would choose us. That may indeed be rather naive, but I'll accept that.

Re: [POLL] Should we buy back Cesc Fabregas?
We don't want to fucking buy him, how hard is that for you to understand? You're on about everybody else quoting rumours, you keep bashing on about this baseless £200k/w wage demand. Wenger just doesn't want him back, that's the long and short of it. Meaning his options are move to whoever does want or as you say stay at Barcelona and refuse to leave so that he rots in the reserves and becomes immensely unpopular with the fans and management there.topgoon wrote:Why is it absurd,no more absurd than the belief that the only club available to Fabregas in all of Europe is the chavs. It's a possibility.
We didn't bid for him because it was felt the sums involved to match the chavs were too high.
Simple solution is he makes it known he will only sign for one club.Barca can't sell him against his will and will gladly accept the buy back fee as they have pressing targets.

The accounts showed that we had transfer fee income owed to us but obviously doesn't mention which player and clubmcdowell42 wrote:on a serious note I read somewhere while back that we are actually owed money by barca for both players, but no mention of how much,so could be just speculation

Just putting in my two pennyworth...
Wenger is always banging on about loyalty, the fact that he never breaks a contract etc. etc. And he has been ridiculously loyal to twats like Denilson, Bendtner, Squillaci and Santos.
He may feel that Fabregas threw that loyalty back in his face when he forced his move, and now he has the opportunity to pay him back by not welcoming him back with the open arms that Cesc was expecting.

And yet he brought back flamoney, henry, jens and a player (sol) that walked out on his team at half time of a game at highbury
