good to see coq organizing the midfield - shouting at em, telling them to hold etc.

we've seen odd good team organisation like this before, but it always evaporates the week after.

i hope wonga has finally had the penny drop. but we'll see.

Majic result. Great to see us still 'play' our way out of trouble when we had regained the ball even deep in our own half of the field. The speed we broke forward on occasions was awesome. Defend with two banks of four & hit em on the break - yeah that'll do. :barscarf: :barscarf: P.S. Theo looked good on the bench so just leave him there & don't tinker with this game plan. :barscarf: :barscarf:

Really good team performance and some excellent individual performances especially defensively by players not normally known for their defensive abilities.

Nice to see a CDM actually do his job first and foremost and not just point and shout at other people :D

Really buzzing tonight and as others have said this feels a lot like a good old 'Boring, Boring Arsenal' result and i couldn't care less if it wasn't beautiful football, sacrilege i know

My one reservation is i thought Ramsey was poor again and after how good TR7 has been lately i was surprised Ramsey started in front of him :?

Posted this on the Wenger thread;

It was a great win. We were brilliant as a team. Our work rate was phenomenal. Santi was deserved MOTM. Giroud showed how well he links up and scored a decent goal too. Belerin continues to improve. Kos was solid and it was Mert's best game of the season so far (even though both made a few basic errors). Only flies in the ointment for me were The Ox seemed to do well and then pick the wrong ball at the end of every run and, worse, Ramsey who is now fully back to his backheeling, outstepping everything, flicking, pompous, over elaborate, overplaying, wrong-option-choosing, worst of two seasons ago. Only redeeming feature of his game yesterday was he never stoppped working and running, but that's just not enough at this level. The Coq played well, but I always feel he is only moments away from a red card.

Regarding the tactics, my worry is now the meeja and the pundits are pointing out that basically Wenger got it right for ONCE (and he did, apart from the manic indiscipline of the first 15 mins of the second half) Wenger's ego will be offended and he will revert to the stupid cavalier approach that led to the 8-2, 6-3, 5-0 humiliations of recent seasons - his version of thumbing his nose at the lesser mortals that haven't worked over 30 years in football. The pundits all pointing out how brilliant Santi was when played in his right position? What odds Santi is out wide again next game? :|

Brilliant performance brilliant result thought Giroud goal reminded me of smudger at Anfield '89 :barscarf:

Our troubles are not over and Wenger still has to go but let's enjoy this :barscarf:

Outstanding game, best performance for a long while. I thought we were going to get reamed, but it's nice to be wrong! :barscarf:

Completely nullified Silva's influence, and kept Aguero quiet as well. I wasn't massively keen on the Oooossspinaaaaa thing at first, but if it means smirky smirkerson stays on the bench then I think I can get used to it!

Some arsenal mug said that it was Henry being in the studio that was the key to our win yesterday.

That was baffling to say the least, and symptomatic of us a team all too often. At least twice in the last 5-10 minutes he was our furthest player forward, ridiculous. BFG should be in his ear very clearly explaining that the halfway line is not to be crossed from now on.

Still, nit picking, a performance completely out of left field, its amazing what discipline and even a modicum of tactical planning and awareness can do for a side with good players in it. Very promising but more of the same please, when required.

As Souness pointed out, we totally controlled the game despite not having the ball for 65% of the time. There's a lesson to be learnt there.

I'd like to give a little bit of credit to Geoff Shreeve for his post match interview.
He pushed Wenger 2 or 3 times on why he had approached this game differently even though Wenger attempted to sweep the question under the carpet by insisting that the approach hadn't been different in this game! Yet again the whole footballing world could see a different set up but nope, Wenger wasn't having any of that. It was down to having the BFG and Kos back together again, that's all. Nothing to do with giving up possession and packing the midfield then hitting them on the break..nope we did that at Liverpool apparently as well....sorry?!
Why did a great performance and day out again have to be spoiled by yet more bullshit. Not having worked a day in football doesn't mean that we're fucking thick.
You changed your approach for the first time in YEARS in a game against a top side in the league but you can't bring yourself to admit that cos it would show that you fucked up so many times before.
Terrific performance by the whole team and in the words of Souness let's hope this is the start of playing footie with different hats on each week!! :barscarf:

Yep, just cant admit it cause as you say it'll show him up to be the stubborn egotistical fool that he is. Persisting to play wide open against the big teams time and time again when everyone knew how it would end up.
It just proves to me that Wenger does not have the interests of the club at heart, rather his own personal agenda and vanity project.

It also suggests to me that its the manager who is the problem at Arsenal. Not Gazidis, not Kronke. His hands are not tied. Hes alwas had money to spend. He has the money, he has the makings of a cometitive squad. He has all the tools and departments at his disposal, but yet again he refuses to go the extra mile to get us over the line and become contenders again. Its down to him and his ego.

And we see all the Wenger supporters coming out of the woodwork now. Now, when he does what we've been begging him to do for years and fekin years. Now they are out because we got a great result away at a top side.
Before it was money, the weather, the pitch, Gazidis, Kronke, injuries etc, ect etc...
But now.....we are *word censored* because we ever doubted Lord Wenger.
