Barcodes at home Saturday 2nd January

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

If you put the ball between those 2 white posts more than the other team you deserve to win
Anything else is excuse mongering bollocks and we have had enough of that

Which is fine and well but you will be the one that comes out spouting bollocks defending the team when we play well but fail to win
No I won't
I never make excuses for us why should I apologise for another team when I don't make excuses for us
I have been lucky enough to see us win 6 titles and there have been more than enough poor performances amongst them
I couldn't give a fuck
Winning is everything

Absolute crap

you can outplay the opposition for 90 mins, hit bar / post / keeper has a blinder and still concede a freak goal or a shit refereeing decision to lose. - As has happened to us on many an occasion.

Our problem is we have far too many weak / fragile players who can only play when its all going well.

Think they may now be thinking that Ozil can create something on his own, so the rest don't need to try as hard.

With Sanchez out we lack the person who can turn a match ala Wright, Henry, Van Persie and conjour something up a goal from nothing Giroud relies on decent service, which if it aint happening negates his best attributes - the near post run and his heading
Walk into any betting shop with your slip in hand and see how much you draw for being unlucky
Bar, part of pitch to be avoided. post, same .keeper, just like ours yesterday is not some random bloke out the crowd but a player brought trained and picked if he is playing well he is doing his job .freak goal, yes shit happens it's called misfortune or good fortune if it happens for you .shit refereeing, you have a point but is it worth dwelling on when we have a manager who has passed on an excuse culture to his players
Go out
And be better than the other team and more often than not you win

I wish he'd shut up.

If we are dependent on his contribution to win a league, then we will never fcuking win it  The guy is just another example of the effects of the sky era........all lovely soundbites and hyped up to the hilt, but the reality when you examine it properly, is that all the hype in the world cannot mask average quality
spot on :D
I've been saying this for years about this 'lovely guy' but every time I do I get slagged off on this forum. It's nice to have somebody that can also see only minimal quality in this player as well. I wish he was a decent player for the teams' sake.

What the fuck are you going on about mate?

I'm not against any of that. To spell it out for you, it's human nature to get nerves when it's not even backed up by history or evidence.

Who's miserable? I think we all loved stealing a win, getting behind the team - but you can show other emotions as well and think.

Newcastle deserved something from that game, Arsenal were dire, apart from 10 mins at the start, which took Newcastle that long to see we did not have much

well pleased we have 3 points, but if he does not add players, we will repeat these all too common meltdowns

Metersecker is too slow, lumbering around the penalty area FFS

Bellerin cannot defend, Walcott and Chamberlain very poor and Giroud falls over a lot and complains

The team is badly set up, no organisation or will to win, thank fuck for Cech, Ozil, Kos and Sanchez

Can't disagree with any of that.

Off coarse it's natural to feel a bit tense when you are only one in front and going for the title
What is unfair is to personalise a player as a reason why you are not going to see the game out when he has come on and seen out plenty
We need to make it a fortress in there where teams fear us
I don't believe the crowd can make a poor team good but it can make a good one better
That is our job
