Carabao Cup Final v pimped small club | 16:30 | Sunday 25/02
Re: Carabao Cup Final v pimped small club | 16:30 | Sunday 25/02
Yesterday and for that matter the previous Wembley game this month reminded me a bit of when you were at school and you played against the boys from the years above , you could run about and but when they got bored of you having the ball they just shoved you off it and went up the other end with it .
Our flyweight choice of midfielders has been a prominent feature of the post invincible Wenger era ,in the Spuds game he felt we controlled the first half ,and he thought this yesterday ,despite only creating 1 effort and being over run in the first mins .
Whatever the excuses about a foul on Mustafi (it wasnt ) or the offiside ,(it was but they get given every day ) we simply didn't pose a threat bar 1 attempt !
Our teams decline which was noticeable but gradual, was overlooked because of our Cup successes however they are laid bare now for all to see and the decline is gathering momentum ,our current form and turgid football will see us out of Europe all together .
Occasional slip ups against mediocre opponents were the exception ,this term it's the rule ,the only hope is the Europa but the Emperor doesn't think it worthy of him.
He should have a rethink if anything is to be salvaged from what is looking like his worse season ever !

I was at Luton in 85/86 when they knocked us out the fa cup 3-0 with sansom o'leary and rocastleBob Bayliss wrote: ↑Sun Feb 25, 2018 5:27 pm
When we had men like Tony Adams, David O Leary, Kenny Sansom and Rocky instead of a team of melts
And watford a month later by the same result ( Adams not o'leary that time)
We were fucking shocking
The difference is don Howe resigned before these two games
( burtenshaw was in charge for the Watford game)
It is Wenger that is the problem

He can think as long as he likes, he doesn't know what to do so it makes little difference. We knew this day was coming.... well it's arrived...and it's all self inflicted.Herd wrote: ↑Mon Feb 26, 2018 12:46 pmYesterday and for that matter the previous Wembley game this month reminded me a bit of when you were at school and you played against the boys from the years above , you could run about and but when they got bored of you having the ball they just shoved you off it and went up the other end with it .

Get a draw on Thursday and we'll hear how he's "turned it around"....then we'll go out of the Europa and be too far off 4th for one of his season ending dashes. The chickens have finally come home.......
I'm just amazed that there are people who are surprised.
And if this season has been bad, his final one is going to be catastrophic!!

no real Arsenal supporter can continue blindly attending matches and hoping that things can get better.nut flush gooner wrote: ↑Sun Feb 25, 2018 8:32 pmI’m a gooner through thick and thin. Have a think about it.
they won't.
to be honest the real Arsenal support has already stopped attending, the ones that are left are the deluded, those who want a nice day out and the growing overseas tourist market.
Wenger is still in a job because people continue to go and spend their money. You have to remember that Arsenal is now a business first and a football club second. Wenger would be sacked if enough people stayed away, but the fanbase is too weak. the team reflects that weakness.

Anyone who thinks that it was a foul by Aguero on Kos for the first goal - is delusional.

All got booed off and worse except for Rocky.
This is far worse as history has told us we turned it around under GG,p;layers respected him and anyone that watched us around those times knew we win or lose we were a hard team to play against.

As well as the shocking non-performance of the team, I cant say I was too impressed with the Arsenal fans who walked out yesterday.
When you're in the stadium, especially at a cup final, then you're representing Arsenal just as much as the spineless fuckers on the pitch are.
I get the reasons for wanting to leave etc. .... but that's why I didnt bother going and stayed at home to watch it.
Maybe next time don't buy the ticket if you're not prepared to stay to the end? You must have all known that sort of performance was a possibility.

I have never left a match early, but on this occasion I fully support those fans that walked out early.
If the players can't be arsed to try, why should the fans be expected to support them.
And to be fair, I think most of them walked out faster than Xhaka tracked back.

I can't ever condone early leavers tbh. A real supporter stays to the bitter end and fucking sings the old songs of pride. The day of the 8-2 humiliation at old toilet our fans did us proud. Even the manc forums lauded us.
I've never left a game early no matter what the score. But hey everyone to their own decision.
As for the "offside".... he would have been off side in the old rules but in the current rules he wasn't. The ref and linesman got it right.
The Aguero "foul"? Not in a million years. He stood his ground and Mustafi backed onto him. Clever play by Aguero that just further showed that Wenger could not sign a top defender if his life depended on it...

Yep. That is the best way to judge a player alright. No one came in for Bergkamp when he was with us either.Ernie71 wrote: ↑Mon Feb 26, 2018 9:33 amIn the 4 years after Ozil left Real Madrid they won 3 CL's in 4 seasonsDB10GOONER wrote: ↑Mon Feb 26, 2018 7:55 am100% this ^. I also kind of feel sorry for Ozil (as much as is possible to feel sorry for a modern millionaire footballer) in that he went from creating chances for top players at Madrid to watching our shit strikers fluff the chances he created for them.Bob Bayliss wrote: ↑Mon Feb 26, 2018 7:51 amFergie had a luxury player in his successful United team......one David Beckham Great at crossing when no-one was marking him and could take a mean free kick. But in all other areas of the midfielder"s game, pretty weak.
Of course that United team had plenty of capacity to allow for Beckham's limited contribution - Keane, Scholes, Giggs... Ozil would have done just fine alongside those guys.
To that extent I sympathise with him, lazy overpaid bastard though he is.![]()
All the big teams in Europe could have had him when we signed him no one wanted him. This summer the big teams could have got him on a free again they didnt want him

Always a difficult decision for a fan to make, to leave or not to leave early. People have talked about a couple of other games, Luton 3-0 30 years ago and ManUre 8-2. I was at both those games and at yesterday’s shite. At Luton the team were savaged at the end. Real vitriol, V signs wanker signs etc The 8-2 was a one off, not many left and as with all the fans there I sang until the bitter end. Yesterday just felt different and the 3rd went in and hundreds and hundreds left and I can totally understand why. People keep saying on here that empty seats are the only way to send a message well there it was. The alternative is to do what we did at the 8-2? Nope, they didn’t deserve anything back from the fans yesterday. That was spineless from top to bottom and I have no problem with the fact that the concourse echoed to the sound of ‘We want Wenger Out’ from 65 mins onwards. Football is a 2 way thing. Give the fans a Manager and team that actually care and those fans will respond. You can pick out at least 10 games this season where we were spineless. For Arsenal that will never be acceptable. Until the Manager accepts that he can’t do anymore for this Club then fighting amongst fans at Cup Finals will continue.Clash wrote: ↑Mon Feb 26, 2018 3:02 pmAs well as the shocking non-performance of the team, I cant say I was too impressed with the Arsenal fans who walked out yesterday.

I am.always against fans leaving early well I was up to yesterday..I fully understand the exodus yesterday after the third goal..There is nothing you can do about losing to a better team , but you can try , and run yourself into the ground and genuine fans will appreciate the effort..Yesterday was just a surrender of the sorriest kind. Spineless, gutless leaderless on and off the pitch...Team gives something the supporters will return it..Nothing Arsenal players or manager done yesterday justified the fans staying behind to applaud them...

As are our fans walking out the door early. Modern fans are wankers.

I actually laughed out loud when shit for brains brought Comedy Iwobi on.![]()
I wonder if Wiggy is here to witness this shambles. First half was promising, but the second was shite.
1 game without a win in 10 and that was at old Trafford
No need to denigrate last seasons fa cup win
We beat man city and Chelsea in the semi and final
