Modern Football Bol**cks

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

RIP to Chris Bart-Williams. Always remember him from the 2 finals against us for Wednesday in 93. 49 is no age!

A sad day for both Forest and Wednesday
That's very sad as well, RIP

Too young to go too

Great to hear the Oirish lesb- oops, sorry - women's "football" team have been knocked out. That will nip in the bud the forced pc wankery of hysterical praise we have had rammed down our throats in Oireland over the last couple weeks. Thank Christ.

Hopefully your Ingerlish "women" can also get knocked the fuck out and SlySports will drop their own hysterical over the top love in with a game that has a technical level equivalent with ten year old boys football.

I haven’t got a problem with the women’s game and it has come on leaps and bounds….I’ve even seen the odd goalkeeper that looks reasonably competent  ….but this forced, overt desperation to promote it and make it popular is a complete joke.

Ultimately, it has to become popular on its own merits. Unfortunately for the ladies, it will, for immutable reasons, always be physically and technically way below the level of the men’s game and will struggle to garner more than a fraction of the popularity.

It should be given time to improve and to grow organically and see where it ends up. Of course, that’s not acceptable these days and it has to be afforded disproportionate pomp and ceremony.

Your term sums it up perfectly, “pc wankery”. Can I raise that perhaps with “woke cuntery”?

I'll bet there was a buzzing sound coming from the changing room.

All these statues of fellas from the same era is a little cringe.

Yeah, can’t we have one or two from the future ? :rubchin: :rubchin:

More needs to be made of the 71 double team in my opinion.

Frank or Charlie, being an Islington lad

Personally, statues of someone still alive or not really old/near deaths door just really doesn't sit right with me. As much as I love Dennis, Big Tone and Henry, they should have been given that honour later in their lives.

And Wenger shouldn't have got one until he's a few years retired from any type of football altogether :?

Agreed. The statue of a living guy thing is a bit weird.
