THE WENGER THREAD
Re: THE WENGER THREAD
That's the most galling aspect for me, they were supposed to be the custodians of the club (which is where I really did buy into the classy Arsenal) but as soon as they sold out all their shares I had a feeling things would never be the same again. I'm not coming over all Nostradamus (or even Mystic Meg) but having seen what happened at Villa and Liverpool I knew an absentee owner from a land that doesn't really do football (talking 2007) then we were always going to be on a rocky road. The fact that Wenger has used all this to his financial benefit, whilst spinning a web of lies to suit his agenda is clear to see, unless your a brainwashed AKB. Out of the blue today I was asked by someone if I was Arsene in or out, and it turned out this bloke also thinks it's time to go but he should choose when!!!? I proceeded to mention that I'd been on all the marches so far and he was a bit taken aback. He then said it was Kranky's fault (money etc), but had no comeback when I reminded him that Wenger famously said he would hand back a huge transfer budget if it was up to him. Wenger Out - no new contract!
Re: THE WENGER THREAD
I'll agree that Dein is also past it now. It's just sad that we lost about six years+ of his influence on The Old Fraud. He was also important when dealing with big European clubs and super-agent scum as well as largely brokering the Premier League breakaway from the Football League in the first place. I certainly think that the early Cashburton years wouldn't have been as bad as they were, the failed Project Youth may have been tempered or shelved with Dein's influence. His sacking really came at the worst time, during the first season at Cashburton, giving TOF ultimate power and the perfect ready-made excuse for failure: the austerity lie.
Today, Dein is still TOF's biggest cheerleader, despite over a decade of failure. Anyone who has seen that pitiful Wenger 1000 programme in 2014, before we got raped 6-0 at the Bridge, will know that. All the glory days that Dein speaks of were in the Highbury days, when Dein was encouraging TOF on transfers.
This Primorac wanker is one of the ultimate parasites. What the fuck does he do, except take £30K a week to watch our matches and say 'Yes, boss'? He's been TOF's hanger-on since 1994 after he blew the whistle on Marseille's cheating. Jobs for the boys, eh Arsene? Doesn't seem like he's going though. Why would he, when he's on easy street? There's also word that Dick Law is leaving too.
Anything to break up this redundant regime

Re: THE WENGER THREAD
To be honest i'd have no problem with shareholders taking dividends as it is fairly normal business practice IF the teams performances were competitive and the club actually acted like a football team as opposed to a pure business entity.
The season ticket holders, merchandise buyers and even the distant fans who only ever have the chance to watch on sky or BT all effectively pay into the clubs coffers and in my opinion all have a right to a level of expectation of performance for what they pay for, as things stand the costs for supporting Arsenal are far out weighed by the current performance of the sporting side of the business, i know this is a slightly naive viewpoint but it is fair.
Just as an after thought, how much better would the clubs finances be if we were performing better and actually winning things, its a proven fact that a sporting franchise, especially one as internationally renowned as ours has greater financial traction only when it is winning, you attract more fans, you attract more business interest and sponsorship deals are higher, as the old saying goes you have to speculate to accumulate

Re: THE WENGER THREAD
It did because it forced him to offload all his shares. Prior to that he was simply selling a small number. It was his sale that firmly tipped the balance in Kroenke's favour. Ultimately they were all in it for the money but once DD opened their eyes to the fact that money could be made from holding Arsenal shares he Fiszman was never going to surrender his shares as easily as he did in the end.augie wrote:General wrote:Our ownership structure has morphed into the perfect gridlock and you never saw this coming 10years ago. Fiszman’s untimely death was the game changer as he was forced to offload his shares to Kroenke. I think he would’ve played the waiting game otherwise. Bracewell-Smith then followed suit and in my opinion landed the fatal blow . Hope she’s choking on her caviar in Monaco.
Dein being the forward thinker saw what lied ahead and by joining forces with Usmanov helped restore some of the imbalance and prevented Kroenke from having a total monopoly.
As for Usmanov he’s a football fan just like the Ruski and I’m sure enjoys banter with his mates about winning and all that.
No matter how you look at it, there is no way of untangling the current sorry mess until we drive the dinosaur out.
Fiszman was the vindictive c.unt that basically ran DD out of the club and then hopped into bed with kroenke anywayHis "untimely" death had absolutely no effect on the direction the club was going and imo he was a despicable c.unt anyway

Re: THE WENGER THREAD
Fuck it, it's Friday, time for some light relief. This was inspired by my and Herd's evangelical exchange on the Karanka thread.
And one day the Lord Wenger was walking upon the Sea of Alsace. There he met two young fishermen who were known as Walcott and Ramsey. They had heard tell of the great man and said unto him, "Master, we are having no luck getting anything into the net. At this rate we will struggle to get 4th place in the fishing competition, please help us".
He told them where to cast their net for bountiful reward. He told them to row their boat back and forth in very short distances and never to cast their net unless they could see the fish no more than 6 yards away....only uncultured fishermen cast their net from great distance. "Tippy Tappy Fishing" he called it and it was his gospel. They thanked him for his benevolent generosity (for such were his socialist principles....as long as no one caught as many fish as him) and made off.
The Knowing One did watch them go, with a smug wolfish grin upon his face.
Much later they returned and did speak to Lord Wenger thus, "Lord, we have fished for 16 hours where and how you said, but haven't caught as much as a stickleback. Are you sure that your advice is correct?".
The Master did turn to Walcott and Ramsey and spake thus, "Shut the fuck up you pair of mugs ! Are you questioning my judgement ? Don't you know that I have 34 years of fishing in these parts?".
The young failures looked upon the Lord in awe and wonder, "Teacher, 34 years, you must have caught a great abundance ?".
The Knowing One replied, "I've caught fuck all for years, but what's that got to do with it ? I am the Way. Now fuck off and let me listen to my whale song DVD's in peace".
Here endeth the lesson.
With apologies to Matthew, Mark, Luke and John.....any coincidences were purely intentional.

Who remembers Gateway Supermarkets?
They are not there anymore because they were sold.
That Arsenal is not there anymore. Those *word censored* sold us to an American ( and an Uzbek. )
The figurehead Arsene completes the perfect pretty picture.
Re: THE WENGER THREAD
I was laughing when those goals went in

Re: THE WENGER THREAD
Another shite performance. Media pressure is really ramping up on The Old Fraud thanks to our protests and banners.
Now six defeats in seven, barring the FA Cup. 74 days to go on TOF's contract. This cannot be allowed to go on.

Re: THE WENGER THREAD
Here we go Wenger,post match:-
Big disappointment to lose, now we have to prepare for next game, claiming their 2nd goal was offside and that we should have had a penalty but those decisions don't go in our favour,we need to re-group and look ahead, blah blah blah.
No questions put to him re the protests.

Re: THE WENGER THREAD
If you discount wins against Sutton and Lincoln. Our last 7 games have been WBA 1-3, Bayern 1-5, LIverpool 1-3, 2-0 Hull, Bayern 1-5, Chelsea 1-3, Watford 1-2.
Thats 1 win and 6 losses, with 21 goals conceded and 8 goals scored.
'Who do you replace him with'

Re: THE WENGER THREAD
Even if we lost every game from now until the end of the season they still wouldn't sack him. The best we could hope for would be the club stating that a mutual agreement has been made and Aw has decided to part company.
Don't anyone believe that if we lose a few more he'll go because it ain't gonna happen, unfortunately.

Re: THE WENGER THREAD
Henry makes a decent point, in the players have a job to do, stop pratting around, and possibly thinking about other issues. Do your job other issues will unfold be it during what remains of the season or at the end. Like that he mentions the players need to look at themslves and each other. Guess we wont know how toxic things are till someone leaves the club and speaks up. Either way! Wenger out!!!

Re: THE WENGER THREAD
"Mutual agreement" is the only way i can see him going. But why hasnt he got the decency to say it is at the end of the season, right now.! If it is happening, or he is simply retiring. He as usual is keeping it to himself hoping he scrapes 4th or by a miracle wins the FA cup. Then he will "Bless" us with his presence and i am sure a few new shitty signings for a few more years.Midz wrote:Even if we lost every game from now until the end of the season they still wouldn't sack him.
