As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.
I'm sick of hearing all the bullshit from ex-players and pundits alike who think this bloke is MOTHER THERESA and deserves all the gratitude and respect in the world!!! Give me a fucking break. He has shown just how self centred, arrogant, egotistical he really is and deserves not one bit of fucking respect from us supporters. He treats supporters with disdain, has no respect for pundits or ex-footballers who have an opinion.
I'm also sick to death of Henry and fucking KEOWN AND PARLOUR who are talking bullshit non stop about him and how he deserves respect and should leave on his own terms. FUCK OFF!!!! I've had a fucking enough
"Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger will sign a one-year deal to stay with the Gunners rather than the two-year contract he was offered earlier in the season. (Daily Express)"
Sadly and Angrily I can see this happening, the cun.t will cling on for one more massive pay check - claiming how he is doing it so there can be a smooth transition the money grabbing lying cun.t
Been saying for a while that if he signs it will be one year and expressly his last. They will think that will quell any protests (he is leaving anyway, you can't hurry it up and he deserves respect etc).
It would b a fucking disaster as not only does it write off another year but it gives the selfish arrogant fucker every opportunity to get his dirty hands all over our future plans and ensure that his decaying legacy is continued.
If he signs then that is me done in terms of giving a shit about the club. For at least as long as he's there. Just doesn't feel like it used to, and hasn't for a while. The last minute wins don't feel as good and the defeats don't hurt so much. The thing that makes me angriest by far is Wenger. Hope it comes back after he goes.
Nobody else is reporting he's signed a 1 year contract. I'll believe it once I see it on Sky Sports etc.
If he does sign an extension, the protests have to continue and, in fact they have to get more aggressive. Words have to get more aggressive and the undue respect has to be entirely removed from the protest. At that point he'd be showing utter contempt for us as fans. So no more respect from then on. "GET OUT OF OUR CLUB!!" needs to be the message.
At that point we should also look into novel ways of performing match disruptions. We cannot allow him to treat us like fools. We've had our say, we want him OUT. He doesn't get to stay 1 more year.

Agreed on both fronts. This just looks like click bait and it's no coincidence that it happens to be published Today when it will get the most attention.
If he signs another deal then the protests have to continue and any supposed entitlement to respect disappears.

It's like a sorta compromise, the club thinking this will shut us up ...but I think in Wenger's head he'll been thinking...a cracking season and they'll be singing my name again and I can get another 2 year at the end of it. We know that won't happen...he is a busted flush. He signs, even a one year deal, and the protests are going to get seriously ramped up. The club needs to be/will be informed of this.

I suggested those exact words over a week again but was outvoted. Seriously if he is refusing to listen the gloves need to come off.

More people will back the idea if Wenger signs a contract extension and refuses to leave. All bets are off if he does that, he's taking us for mugs at the point and showing us no respect, so it makes sense to return the favor so the c.unt knows exactly what we think of him.
If he signs for a year the summer doesn't bare thinking about he has spent 90m this year and the team is WORSE than last year by some distance.
We are in a false position in the league Burnley twice,Southampton at home with a very, very generous injury time pen and even Leicester away where imo they had a late stonewall pen turned down.
The thought of how he will waste money from the sales of Ozil,Sanchez,Ox,Wilshere alongside the transfer budget doesn't bare thinking about.
The next man coming in whoever it is going to be handed an overpaid squad of bang average players.

WENGER OUT
Not to mention the dire showing at home to West Brom bailed out by a late goal and the worst of the lot at Old Trafford.
Going back 5 years the complaints were always that we couldn't convert dominance into wins and tried to walk it into the net.
This season we have picked up far more points that we didn't deserve than points we deserved but missed out on.
Where is this one year talk coming from? Is it a bullshit ploy to 'only' sign for a year, giving indication next year will be his last, only with the intention to extend his contract again next season to complete the two year extended stay?
One year deal my tits. This is a tactical trick, as by signing a one year deal, Wenger and the board think they can get away with it, as a two year contract in the current climate is a hard sell - but a one year deal is much easier. They then think the fans will get off his back and fall into line and support Wenger for his 'final year'. Although it wont be his final year - he will sign an extension the moment we go on a good run.
