Breaking: Philippe Coutinho (FC Barcelona) to Arsenal. Brazilian midfielder should be loaned to London club. [@lequipe]

IF this was to happen I would be fcuking raging and would go so far as to say that it is a scandalous piece of business when we still have no defenders  :cussing: :cussing: :cussing:

Daily Record journalist Michael Gannon (Reliable) : "Arsenal are still interested in Kieran Tierney. This move has been there for 2 or 3 years..I expect Arsenal to leave it late and see if Celtic will blink. I think he will be an Arsenal player by end of this week." #afc

Eddie to Bristol would be a good move for his sake so it could be seen over a season where he gets regular playing time if he's the real deal or not. Good luck to the lad if it happens.

Philippe Coutinho on loan for a season would be a massive upgrade to our midfield. I thought this was just a false story but it seems to have gathered credibility today. Still not sure if it'll happen but would be very happy if it does.

Dayot Upamecano would be a welcome upgrade to our motley defence line. If not him then the Italian guy but we need at least one of them and Upamecano would be permanent whereas Rugani may only be a loan.
We need one of them desperately.

Kieran Tierney would be a nice addition too, even if he is injured at present.
We just got 4.6m for Kos and 10m for Beliek (sp) surely we have another 10m lying around that we could give Celtic for him.

This is shaping up to be one of the most exciting transfer windows for us in years. :barscarf: :barscarf: :barscarf:

Any other club and I would agree with you mc, but this is a club that has neglected the defence for years (albeit that was in le cocks reign  ), and I dont feel confident in lessons being learned. Americans love glitz and glammer and you get that from a big attacking signing (be excited) - spain's two big clubs continue to be run on a strategy of signing exciting attacking players, and our club is American owned and run by a former barca guru so I'm not sure if practicality is in their vocab. Truth be told a signing like pepe was nowhere near vital for this team - yes it is exciting, and yes he might turn out to be a top quality signing, but we have far more pressing issues than wingers

Lots of outlets reporting Coutinho to us is a deal. Would be exciting as he would be an upgrade on Ramsey, but I thought Ceballos played in the same ‘position’? I can only think they are confident if tieing up the Tierney and a CB deal late on!? Could be a great window!! :barscarf:

Fabrizio Romano | Arsenal are prioritising a deal for a central defender despite Philippe Coutinho’s representatives contacting the club to see whether they would be interested in signing the Brazilian on loan for the upcoming season.

Fabrizio Romano | There has been no contact between Arsenal and Barcelona regarding a potential loan deal for Coutinho at this point but both sides are keeping their options open with only 48 hours left of the transfer window. #afc

Instead of who though ? At present we have xhaka (who seems nailed on for the DM position  ) and then pick 2 from torreira, guendouzi, ozil, willock and ceballos (not to mention maitland-niles), so where does coutinho fit in ? :? Why sign the kid from madrid if coutinho is going to leapfrog him (which you would assume is gonna happen if he signs) in the pecking order ? Are they seeing countinho as a winger maybe, and then you would have to question where it would leave nelson :?

The ONLY half acceptable reason why we would sign coutinho is if we have a deal in place to sell at least one of ozil, mikki and lard arse, and tbh unless we sold 2 of them I still wouldn't be interested

£27m loan fee would be ridiculous too

ESPN claim Leipzig's Dayot Upamecano is no longer an option for #Arsenal as a deal was too complicated to conclude, though, Juventus' Daniele Rugani is in the frame following a meeting in London this week between Raul Sanllehi & Juventus director Fabio Paratici. https://t.co/sAvlWgyvd7

I desperately want palace to sell Zaha asap - I honestly think that we MIGHT have a chance to get rid of lard arse iwobi if palace need a replacement for Zaha (says he clutching at straws)

I wonder would Leipzig be willing to take the Armenian pussy in part exchange for their centre back :rubchin: Mikki has a proven track record in the german league and he would be a high profile signing for their fans if it were to happen (says he clutching at even more straws)

I wonder if mike from the nags head is interested in signing a german international to play centre back alongside boycie :rubchin: (not enough straw in the world I'm afraid  )

Mc, I though you were on strike with kos for this transfer window because you weren't updating this thread as frequently as previously was the case, but fair play to you cos now in crunch time you are really showing what you are made of by coming through with info in a time of frenzied panic :barscarf:
