No fucking way I'd like Rooney at arsenal but id take cesc back in preference to signing Rooney.
Re: SUMMER TRANSFERS - Deals, Rumours and Buy/Sell Wish List
Barça's vice-president, Josep Maria Bartomeu: "Barça can ensure they will not entertain any offers for Cesc. He is completely non-transferable."

i was at chelsea in a pre season friendly when lee chapman scored his 1st goal for usgreengooner wrote:Am I the only one who cringes with every goal we score on this Asian tour, another few 7-8 nil wins and the senile old bas**rd in charge is going to think that Le Chapman is good enough when the real games start and why should he sign anyone. By the time we get bummed by City in another money spinning friendly it will be to late. I genuinely have given up all hope of Wenger sorting out the fu**ing glaring problems with our first eleven, I mean why would change his penny pinching ways this year as opposed to any other of the last eight years, my record of attending every season since 89 is going to grind to a halt, money is to tight to piss it away watching the same sub standard s**t from the same sub standard players.
i was also at stoke the following week sitting in my green replica shirt thinking i don,t mind the look of woodcock but chapman was shit on a whole other level
giroud is maradona in comparison

the comparisons to chapman concerning Giroud are laughable. I remember my dad and older brother booing Chapman pretty much week in week out when we had that shit season in 82-83. Giroud was top scorer in france, weather or not you respect the french league he has the potential, it's just his lack of composure in one on ones at the moment is worrying. Once he gathers some confidence in this series of poor friendly matches he might make it to the dizzy heights of wiltord level finishing.

So Cesc is not going anywhere, can the hysteria over cesc get hosed down now?
At least we'll never have to see Cesc in a sickening utd shirt.
Now back to transfers concerning arsenal:

How about this, Wenger and Gazidis make noises about signing lots of big name players around Europe, go in with piss poor offers for players that they know have no intention of being accepted, Wenger and Gazidis let the supporters know how hard they tried, we don't sign anyone of note, then at the end of the summer they tell us all how hard they tried but unfortunatey they couln't bring in anyone who was better than we already have.
In the meantime the board all pocket massive share dividends and give Wenger a fat new contract.

So, we don't sign him for approx £15m but now we're intersted at what, £30 - £35m? Looks like the Daily Fail have some column inches to fill todayp206ab wrote:http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/footba ... elsea.html

This 'one that got away' still grates now, as you say, we should've moved earlier and got him.

If we had bought mata 2 years ago we would be no doubt selling him this season to city / Chelsea / Barca etc

Neymar, Cavani and Falcao have all gone for huge fees. Meanwhile Citeh have bought two strikers for well over £20m each as well as spending £33m on a fairly unknown Brazilian with only 5 caps.
We weren't going to sign any of these players anyway but you can bet damn sure these signings are used as evidence of the 'dizzying prices' that prevented us signing a quality striker.

So Citeh sign Negredo a just a day after Jovetic, and a whole MONTH after Navas, yet the market is yet to get moving allegedly. Funny that
