Would not hurt.
We have plenty of wide players but do we have quality in depth?

Should be good but might need time to settle, and may be needed up front?

Podolski

Good players, but yet to prove consistency

Walcott
Oxlade-Chamberlain

Needs to improve

Gervinho

Chubby and likely to be sold

Arshavin

Chubby and unpredictable but worth a go

Santos

Will he stay or will he go?

Lansbury

What will he be like?

Watt

Front man likely to be loaned but may stay and get played out of position

Afobe

Better centrally and currently injured

Rosicky

Fast and possibly a dark horse

Miyaichi

Can cross a ball, but is he good enough to start wide midfield?

Jenkinson

Anyone spot how Coquelin was included in Wenger's first team list?
So? Most people rate Coquelin very highly. There was a thread on here the other day about how everyone thinks he'll step up this year.
I agree. I wasn't making anything of it just pointing out an important snippet within Wenger's quotes. One that could have been easily dismissed.
From that you can assume Song and Coquelin will be the defensive midfielder's in the squad.

Firstly quote put's to bed the M'Villa to Arsenal story.
Equally it makes a mockery when Wenger earlier stated that he didn't need M'Villa because he had Diaby. Diaby's not a defensive midfielder unlike Song or Coquelin. Why not simply say "We already have Song & Coquelin"?

Can't say I know that much about Cazorla but...

Vela has gone.
Arshavin is allowed to leave.
Bendtner (not a winger I know, well.... not unless you are Wenger!) is set to leave also.

This leaves us with.
Theo: Still waiting on whether he signs this summer
Ox: Although Wenger wants him infield rather then on the wing.
Gerv
Podolski

Looking back we're used to having have 4 wide players in the squad. If you discount the OX we only have 3 providing the others leave. Even so Theo's situation isn't resolved either.
I think at the moment this is currently filed under "made an enquiry" and we might hear more on this once players start to leave or don't commit.

Several papers this morning have bayern going to sign de jong for between 6m-8m :( For me it is an absolute disgrace if we allow that to happen cos I think de jong would be ideal for us - he would not freely abandon his position to charge up the field in some messi like dream (song     ) plus he would be an ideal short term signing allowing coquelin to be slowly introduced to the team to be ready to take over the DM position in a year or two 8) We badly need a hatchet man in midfield imo :barscarf: :box:

If you think about we don’t have 1 single wide player at the club.

Theo isn’t a wide player, he can’t really cross and doesn’t have the technical ability to be a natural wide player

Gerv. Enough said he can’t cross, has shit composure

Pod – Isnt a natural wide man. He can play on the left but that isnt his best position.

Ox – don’t think that’s his natural role , again not a real wide man

Bendy – Haha

AA23 – LOL

So in my view I cant think of a natural wide player that can cross, give intricate passes and create real chances on a constant basis for years now!

Ok. Spoke to the milkman again this morning and his mate who walks his dog over and beside The Arsenal training ground has advised the following that he's heard from people at the ground.

M'Vila deal stalled when Arsenal would only pay £17m, Rennes wanted £24m, left as that . Rennes apparantly have now come back and accepted this and the finer details of the deal are being completed.

Walcott's new contract has almost been completed and will be signed soon.

Cazorla fee agreed and the final bits of the contract are being sorted out now.

Afellay deal could still be on the cards , negotiations ongoing.

Chamakh wants to stay and prove himself, he feels he didn't get a look in last season with the formation and form RVP was in.

Remember I am passing this information onto you from the milkman via his mate .
