Re: Arsene Wenger - For him or against him?
Wenger can take a flying fuck to himself- sadly its not surprising though that the idiots in charge of our club have voted for more years of profit.
I wonder how much of a pay rise he will get in this latest deal?
Theres a waft of horsemeat burger in the air already...

Re: Arsene Wenger - For him or against him?
Wasn’t great Saturday was it! Worse than Bradford for me, in the former we looked up for it at least – we just played poorly – we were so pedestrian on Saturday, no ideas, no real ability to take the game to them, it looked arrogant with a resolution that we would score eventually. I don’t blame Wenger for rotating the team, not one bit, but the players that come in are either good players playing badly (Ox, Diaby, TV, Cockles) or players that are simply not good enough to play for the club (Gervinho) – and that mix is always dangerous.
Blackburn were awful, but they pushed us out wide knowing that is where we threaten the least as we never cross the ball (and when we do its often poor) – some luck and some outstanding performances always meant we were liable to a sucker punch, and so it proved. 11 Corners In the opening half hour, 90% of them were rubbish – and that’s a consistent flaw, why isn’t it addressed?
The question is, how long can this go on for? The world and his wife could see we needed players in Janaury – he refused to buy anyone. (Nacho was in due to injury, he would not have signed until the summer otherwise). Games like Chelsea away, Liverpool at home – half hour to go, on top but nobody really to come off the bench and help make the breakthrough – because the squad just isn’t strong enough – we have a lot numbers-wise, but are they really good enough? How many times will our season realistically be over in February in terms of challenging for a trophy before things change? Im not worried about not winning Trophies per sae, but we are not even challenging for them right now, and we are letting huge opportunities pass us by time and time again.
Massive overhaul will not solve anything, but Wenger has to take some blame for the way this season has panned out – worst ever start to a prem campaign don’t forget – and to be honest, there are not many “green shoots” at the moment where you can say, yeah, it’s a season of transition you accept things will go wrong if you know your working towards a bigger picture. I accept we cannot compete with the big boys, but 21 points is pretty unacceptable when you think about it.
Goalkeeper – Playing poorly because he has no real compitition, the fact we are one injury in training from Mannone / Fabianski is a major flaw in the squad.
Defence – TV is awful at the moment, Koscielny isn’t the player of old – Per is our best CB but he has flaws which hold him back – outweighed by his positives if people are helping him out, but they are not. Sagna isn’t committed, Gibbs cannot string a good run of games together. All this means an unsettled defence (changes every game), which undermines anything we do further up the pitch.
Midfield – No real depth, some quality players in there, but we have shown when one of Wilshere, Arteta or Cazorla are missing we struggle. Diaby is playing very poorly and Rosicky (who again was excellent on Saturday) isn’t given enough game time to find some form. Again, teams have learnt to nullify our midfield and stop us playing.
Attack – Giroud needs help and has unsurprisingly burnt out a little, Podolski has a good return but games do pass him by at times, Walcott is having his best season but again, teams have worked out how to defend against us.
I’d like to see us change to 4-4-2 in games like Saturday when the 4-3-3 isn’t working, give the opposition need to react – rather than give them confidence. Would sticking Walcott central with Podolski have made a difference on Saturday? We will never know, but Blackburn looked very comfortable as it was
Blackburn in isolation isn’t a disaster, its cup football, it happens. But it’s the fundamental flaws at the moment, which have been consistent for a few years now, which are holding us back – a shame, because at times we play some brilliant football – but the way we play, the way we are set up and the players we have don’t lead me to believe we will be winning (or challenging) on a consistent basis anytime soon.

"Maybe they still thought: ‘OK, we’re playing at home against Blackburn, it will be difficult but we will win the game anyway’, but it doesn’t work like that"
Time after time after time after time AFTER TIME and yet he never learns
Things are rotten to the core and even when he's gone are going to take years to put right. What a mess.

The Guardian:
5) Wenger's excuses wearing thin
Great teams find a way to win no matter what. Arsenal keep finding ways to lose. Arsène Wenger blamed an "immature" lack of focus for Saturday's FA Cup defeat against Blackburn Rovers, an explanation that implied the familiar claim that his team will outgrow the problem. But that excuse is old and infirm. The problem has persisted so long it is surely systemic. So the system must change: that means either Wenger alters his policies and starts to spend more wisely on reliable quality and more time on reliable defending or Wenger must be replaced. Yes, yes, you will find a very different tune on these pages if Arsenal beat Bayern Munich on Tuesday and go on to win the Champions League. But we all know that is not going to happen. Paul Doyle

This is running in The Sun too. Please, please, please let this not be true. If it is, it absolutely shows the distain that the Board have for the fans (as if we didn’t know that already). How depressing. News like this makes me want us to get hammered tomorrow and in the second leg and to miss out on 4th place. Not proud to say that about the Club I love but sadly that is what is needed to turn the pressure up on this man and finally get him out. A sad state of affairs to feel this way about my Club.N1Goon wrote:I'm sorry guys, but Metro are also running the Wenger 2 year extension story as well;

Best news I've had in ages. Counting down the days, another one ticked off.
