Re: THE WENGER THREAD
Wenger in the papers saying that not only can Walcott get back into the England team but he can go on to captain it.
It is actually difficult to point out a more scheming conniving person anywhere in the world. The message here is that he (Wenger) takes the captaincy seriously and if he sees Walcott as captaincy material then clubs and teams all over the world need to sit up and take notice. Wenger has spoken......
How can ANYBODY be stupid enough to be taken in by this man??

No one respects him anymore mate. His legacy has been ruined and he has shown his true colors as a selfish dictator with the ego the size of the planet.xisstential wrote:Wenger in the papers saying that not only can Walcott get back into the England team but he can go on to captain it.

Wenger, a man so great he fails to nominate a captain for an entire half of football last week, now lecturing people on who would make a good captain.
What a fucking idiot this bloke is.

Re: THE WENGER THREAD
Wenger = King of Fools.
The man is a Fool and yet he has somehow and still manages to fool thousands of others.
The club have played the 'Waiting Game', they knew that despite the protests and the obvious swiftly growing (vocal) opposition to his being offered and him signing a new contract, that as long as they waited and with very careful PR & planning just keep planting little seeds of his possibly staying, yet (the club) by keeping mostly silent themselves and getting others to do their work for them; ie: both present & ex-players like Ramsey, Walcott, BFG, Pires, Lehman, Podolski etc as well as using the power & reach of their chosen Media Outlets that it would only be a matter of time before the team would win again and that the simple logistics of all the protesters being able to attend every game to protest were an impossible ask. And eventually they could make their move.
That move ie: The Announcement is coming.
The man is wholly dis-honest and is obviously delusional and as long as the club put finances before the actual game of football and its success on the pitch - then the whole circus will continue Ad infinitum.
In truth we all know the Arsenal we once knew, loved and supported was and is long gone, if like myself you hoped we could by ridding the club of Wenger, then Kroenke and then the whores on the board, we might somehow regain some thread, flavour and glimmer of the club that was once a by-word for Family club, Respect and Class, well that is understandable because sometimes you HAVE TO Keep Hoping.
Sadly I also knew I was hoping in vain.
It IS the hope that eventually kills.
It would seem that the majority of current 'fans' (sic) do not have it in them to be bothered to do anything about the disease that has been allowed to infest and swallow our club, they somehow have been conditioned into accepting 2nd & 3rd rate quality in what is arguably the best & most entertaining Football League in the world, to the point where in their 'comatose' state they continue to accept and buy what they told THE Arsenal is and does. Admittedly this also applies to most other clubs in the Prem.
And so we are stuck with a fossilised and inept manager, who is supported 100% by an owner and board who see financial success as just that 'success' regardless of the ongoing and continuing failures on the pitch. 99.9% of today's managers & players (in any league) have bought into that philosophy and so as it is they who do the actual coaching & the playing on the pitch, the heart, spirit and beauty of the game we all grew up playing, watching and supporting is Gone.
It feels like the slow but now arrived death of a Dearly Loved Friend.
Fare Thee Well Arsenal.

Re: THE WENGER THREAD
Good stuff there, I can't help feeling perhaps that football has peaked as a spectacle in this country, obiviously worldwide the PL continues to grow at least for now, but has the PL gone past that point now at home?, I don't know maybe it's limited just to the Arsenal but I wouldn't be surprised if fans of other clubs, possibly to a lesser extent feel disconnected from the game like a lot of us do.OneBardGooner wrote:Wenger = King of Fools.

I certainly don't feel that strong urge to watch football, especially on a Saturday afternoon, that i used to 10-20 years ago. It feels like there is nothing we can do if the majority of our fans just turn up and accept Wenger & Kroenke as the future, for me however I don't want any part of it, I can find better ways to waste my energy than watching a second rate US sports franchise playing for top 6 status.
Re: THE WENGER THREAD
I don't think the announcement on Le fraud's future was ever going to be made public before the end of the season or was the board waiting for a window to announce that he was staying. Historically the announcement has always been made at the end of the season.
The issue for me is the way and manner Le fraud has been allowed to manipulate the agenda to suit his view of the world. I think Gazidis tried to use the fan forum last week to correct some of these fallacies and we've seen the fraud now backtrack this week and says the announcement will come from the board and not him, contradicting his self serving behaviour after Brom when he said he'd made up his mind and will let the world know in due course. I've paid very little attention to a lot of the tripe he comes out with and reading too much into it is just a wasted emotion.
It's quite clear he's been sending subliminal messages to the board about his ability to still do the job and I do believe there is split within the hierarchy.

Re: THE WENGER THREAD
That split has been there for years imo. But it really has taken far too long for Gazidis to do something. He has always put out messages about funds and competing and that famous one about the manager and the fans.General wrote:I don't think the announcement on Le fraud's future was ever going to be made public before the end of the season or was the board waiting for a window to announce that he was staying. But up until now it seems hes never moved cause of internal politics or maybe fear or maybe he has also been too comfortable.
But by all accounts my little chat with him after the W Brom game has done the trick.
You can thank me later.

Re: THE WENGER THREAD
Seriously beginning to look around for something else to spend my match days on next season, maybe try some trainspotting, bird watching or even watching paint dry, it surely has to be more interesting and entertaining than watching yet another season of dross served up under OGL

Re: THE WENGER THREAD
I thought I'd go back and check the past decade of contracts that TOF has signed and when.
2007 Sep - £4M p/a - Four years
2010 Aug - £6M p/a - Four years
2014 May - £8.3M p/a - Three years
2017...
I've noted that he has got incremental raises each season, seeing as he was also reported to earn £5M p/a before signing the contract in 2010, plus I'm sure we all know that before he signed the contract in 2014, he was on £7M p/a and 7.5M p/a. It's also noted that he signed his 2007 and 2010 contracts early. Only the last one was late and now this one.
It's scandalous that The Old Fraud has doubled his money whilst he deliberately embarked on the failed Project Youth, using the austerity lie and has continued a decade of failure in the league and in the Be All and End All. One CL final in 19 seasons. What a joke for a supposedly 'elite' manager.
Another damning stat is that we've only averaged 72.8 points since 2005, only breaking 80 points in 2008; considering you need about 90 points to be champions The Old Fraud has proven to be an absolute failure. Our famous collapses have lost us potentially five league titles in the Cashburton years and we failed to compete at all in the other years. And we always had the money and the club has even more now.
Coach of the decade? Don't make me laugh.

Well written and absolutely true. That Fraud has been allowed to get away with murder. How the fuck has this been tolerated? He represents everything that is wrong about the game- snide, manipulative, greedy, money-mad, disrespectful towards the fans, aloof, arrogant and completely unaccountable. I have no respect for him or the club these days and it will take years to repair the damage this *word censored* has done to the club and the fanbase.OneBardGooner wrote:Wenger = King of Fools.

Good man Chris. If even a small percentage of our fanbase had your drive and determination, we would have already met with success. When this is over, I'll be lobbying for a statue of you outside the bowl !!
