West Brom reject £18m bid from 'them' for Berahino.

Impossible to know, but that report seems plausible.mcdowell42 wrote:http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/footba ... owski.html
As this search for a striker goes back to 2013 and interest in Suarez and Higuain, it makes it all the more baffling that we gave Chelsea a free run at Diego Costa, as I can't say I'm aware of us being interested? - or perhaps it was made clear to Arsenal that he wanted to join Chelsea.
Oh well, better start praying that Giroud, Theo and Welbeck can do the business

I read on the Guardian’s bullshit rumour mill that Zlatan is up for sale. I know Arsene virtually signed him once but, even at 33, I’d take him.

Wellington and Zelalem farmed out, another two young forwards away.
Are the decks being cleared for incoming players or am I reading too much (hoping!!!!) Into normal business?

I'd love to see him give shit to the dumb chums he would be playing withofficepest wrote:I read on the Guardian’s bullshit rumour mill that Zlatan is up for sale. I know Arsene virtually signed him once but, even at 33, I’d take him.

I'm not convinced he'd join Arsenal.officepest wrote:I read on the Guardian’s bullshit rumour mill that Zlatan is up for sale. I know Arsene virtually signed him once but, even at 33, I’d take him.
Isn't he on a ridiculous record of consecutive league titles going back almost a decade at Barca, Milan, Inter and PSG?

Signing for a club who haven't won the league for over a decade and are far from favourites to change that would be an odd move for someone with his ego

Oddly linked with a move to to Turkey and Gala.g88ner wrote:I'm not convinced he'd join Arsenal.officepest wrote:I read on the Guardian’s bullshit rumour mill that Zlatan is up for sale. I know Arsene virtually signed him once but, even at 33, I’d take him.

Signing for a club who haven't won the league for over a decade and are far from favourites to change that would be an odd move for someone with his ego- I reckon he'll want to keep that record up so will either stay at PSG (big money and guaranteed league title) or move to a club odds on to the win the title in their country. Porto or Juve perhaps.
Ibra and Podolski up front.

The stuff Football Manager 2007 was made of.

That would fit with what I've said. Gala are a big fish in a small pond, won the league last season and seem to like recruiting big names (Sneijder, Drogba, Podolski.... Zlatan could be 40 and still run circles around Giroud and Theo in terms of ability. He is a genetic freak and at 33 could do the business for a year or two.
Obviously a cheap panic buy option that the nutty professor loves which makes this a strong possibility.

Zlatan won't sign for Arsenal after what happened the last time we tried to sign him.

Re: The 2015 Transfer Rumours Thread
To be fair, if Ozil and Ibrahamovic are panic buys (which I kind of agree with) then I'm all for it. Panic away Arsene. Quickly!MrT wrote:Zlatan could be 40 and still run circles around Giroud and Theo in terms of ability. He is a genetic freak and at 33 could do the business for a year or two.

Arsenal have explored the possibility of signing .......
Arsenal are now considering a move for ........
Arsenal have reportedly been handed a major boost to seal the transfer of .......
...... could seal Arsenal transfer within days
BS spouted by various media sources every day yet Arsenal don't sign anyone do they.
I'm sure I'm not alone in being very tired of this.

That would allow Wenger to convert Petr Cech from the keeper we did not need into the new Henry

Still, I remember the days of clubcall; a 50p a minute landline number that always had some sort of exclusive bollocks to hook people in. I had a mate who racked up a huge bill one summer; his dad (a vicar) turned the air blue when he found out

I only ever called it once. It was back when we had a charity shield match vs. Man Utd at Wembley. I wasn't able to watch the game so having checked my watch to make sure the game was over, I put 50p into a phone box and dialled the Arsenal clubcall number hoping to find out the result before my money ran out.
- to my surprise, the game seemed to be still on, and all I got from clubcall was "and he's scored for United!"

I didn't have any more money to find out what the hell was going on, but it turned out i'd called during the shootout.
I feel old; kids with smart phones and internet every minute of the day have no idea how difficult it used to be to keep up with your team

Anyway, what was it like before floodlights Chippy?
