I think these comments if anything illustrate why he has not been sacked - he is at the very least willing to work with reduced funding without complaint or criticism of that, and is willing to the point of joining in offering the ususal soundbites which try to paint this as either/or debate as in either the only choice I have is to spend 20 million or spend nothing, just as we have heard Board members talk of the choice being between spending like Chelsea or doing precisely what we are doing, or their best that its between doing exactly what we are doing and ending up bankrupt.

Despite the fact that there is a huge middle ground between the choices they offer and the fact that we have the means to operate within it they insist on pretending it's the "Arsenal Way" or the administration way. As they can get away with it it's hard to blame them really for using such disngenuous logic. It's also much more profitable than venturing into that middle ground and using some of the 150 million plus they sit atop to acquire and ensure we can retain some more top players as well as those we have now.

Just couldn't post up until now about this... still a bit fucked over by it TBH...

Watched Citeh do the chavs Saturday morning. Thought "Brilliant, we can use this now, take a step up" and went off to play footy. Lost that game and came off the pitch at the end to hear "You won't believe this, your lot lost 3-2!" from a Mouser team mate...

Watched the extended coverage on Football First and the coverage on RTE and BBC and goals on Sunday to try and analyse what went wrong.

In a word (or two); SHIT KEEPER.

Yes the team as a whole were poor for most of it and didn't seem fluid in passing and movement. And having shit like Diaby and Comedy Eboue playing in midfield certainly doesn't help. But their 2nd and 3rd goals were pitiful. Fucking retarded Almunia showed just how poor he really is.

Wenger must take some blame too. The decision to rest the massively in form Wilshere was plain stupid. Yes he is young but he is fit and strong and a run of starts will only help build his fitness and confidence. But Wenger rests him and puts in the beyond frustrating Diaby! :banghead:

No coincidence that we only came alive and scored after Comedy Eboue and Diaby were taken off.

Not to take anything from WBA though, they played well and deserved the win IMHO. But if we had started with the right line up they may never have got a sniff in the first place. But then again, we are always going to be a silly error or two away from defeat with shit like Coco and Flappy as our keepers.

Agreed, the warning signs were there for all to see, during the first half, I said to others than Diaby and Eboue, had to be hooked at half time, but typical of Wenger, he waits until we're chasing the game before doing something.

I saw Squillaci, talking to Eboue and Diaby just before they kicked off for the 2nd half, he must have been telling these two useless *word censored*, that we're playing in Red....., I don't think I have ever seen so many passes going to the opposition as these two played during the first half, but because of Cult Hero Eboue, no one dares say anything anymore in criticism.

In addition, what is the point in having young players like JET on the bench, when you all know he isn't going to get a run out, :? He would surely have been better than the useless no-brain *word censored* that is Diaby, and how long must we endure the continued poor performances from not only Clichy but Sagna, who has been terrible now for the past 2 seasons.

Yeah. But how many other games will Barcawhores lose to unfancied sides because their manager won't admit his keepers are shit and thus refuse to replace them?

It's not the losing, it's the not learning from the same mistakes. :banghead:

spot on mate. Its not the losing to WBA or non winning of trophies season after season its the inability to see what is blatently obvious to the rest of us :banghead:

Could of started Lansbury here. He would of been full of confidence going in to the match.

I've been saying for a while that Sagna has had one good season, and has been poor ever since. The genuine lack of competition for the right back slot is possibly a factor but not an excuse.
He is however French as seems to be quite a few of our poor performers recently, and Monsieur Wenger seems happy to tolerate his fellow countrymen.

I don't think it's a matter of nationality, and I don't think it is right to make all the frenchmen scapegoats of Arsenal bad results.
But Diaby is not good enough and shouldn't be considered as first choice. I really hope Wenger started him because he wanted to rest Rosicky and Wilshere. Diaby and Eboué have no "football brain" and I think to play them in midfield was a mistake. Their shakiness has contaminated the rest of the team, and it was a very poor performance from the keeper to the striker, not only the player who have the handicap of being french.
;)
