the stupidest comment on this thread easily is the knee jerk reaction of lets bring the army in, condoning blatant military oppression we have police for shit like this and they are failing.
nother ireland was an occupied territory
Yeah but you say these kids have nothing better to do, what about going to get a job? Or at least attempting to do so. What about voluntary work? Helping out in the community? The armed forces? Instead they sit there and feel sorry for themselves and think the whole world is against them.

Instead they smash the place up, use violence wherever they go, destroy property, costing us taxpayers more and more money, and then wonder why people think they're fucking scum.

We should bring the army in and teach these little fuckers a lesson they won't forget.
safcftm, worthing_gooner and 1989, all completely correct.

Plastic baton rounds have been used to control riot situations for years in Northern Ireland and police are within their rights to shoot dead petrol bombers if they are considered to be endangering life.
Why then are these tactics rarely or indeed never deployed on mainland britain?
Drop a few of these scum bastards with live rounds, then we will see just how brave they are.

Oooooo Cameron said the youths will "feel the full force of the law"... I bet they're fucking quaking in their little chav trainers!

We've seen the full force of the law over the last few days - police unable to control the streets of our capital due to cuts and "human rights".

I'm sure these youths will really be taught a lesson when Parliament turn up on Thursday to "debate" this matter. By that time London will be a pile of smouldering rubble.

The ONE time we desperately need decisive and prompt action, we get the same old spin from spineless polititians.

You brought up race.
You started talking about Black Crime etc.

So me responding to that is playing a "Race Card"????

You will have to do better than that if you want to discuss with me.
But you do not really do you?

You just want to spread your bias, and try and insult me, because I stand up to your aims.

Yeah, you come across as a white racist. Based on your posts. Definitely.

You see some footage of riots on TV and instantly twist it to a platform for your racial bias.

Big looting tonight in Romford, Woolwich and Charlton.

Not known for their strong Black communities are they?

And do not try that boring tactic so beloved of message boards, or putting words in my mouth. Trying to claim my views of 9/11. I have not mentioned that subject.
It will not wash on here.

Oh but you have been found out already by me and Irish Gooner.
Another weak reply. Show me where I have been racist? Give me quotes. Show me examples of where I have based my opinions on stereotypes. You can't.

Because I raise the issue of race, that makes me a racist? You try to position yourself as some 'wise elder' on here. I "will have to do better than that to debate with you"? I "have been found out by you and Irish Gooner". Dear me, you really do have an over inflated opinion of yourself - not the first time on here.

Again, give me examples of my racism. You simply can't. You are a coward, hiding behind abusive comments and the 'R' word that you can't substantiate.
I have a higher opinion of myself than I do of you, that's for sure.

I do not try to "position" myself as anything, I just call it as I see it, but allow room for others' opinions. If I disagree with others opinions, I will argue against them if I chose.

And I disagree with yours.

You brought up race. You said most of the looters are Black, therefore there is a problem with the Black youth.

But the looters are of all races. The TV footage clearly shows that.

This has just been tweeted on Sky News:

"Volunteers hoping to help out with the clean-up operation in Clapham Junction have been told they can not help due to health and safety issues. Officers told the helpers that the decision had been made for the clean-up to be done by the council."

This is the kind of politically correct bullshit which is sending this country down the toilet. People turn up with gloves and shovels and bags to try to help clear up the mess, and are turned away in case they hurt themselves.

It's a complete joke and sums up exactly what is wrong with this country. These are exactly the kind of stupid mindless attitudes which caused this violence in the first place.

It's going to be a whole lot worse tonight but just reading on sky news that the police have been authorised to use rubber bullets tonight.

I work for a large letting agency and our branches in Lewisham and Croydon are closed as police have informed them of impending violence.

Sainsburys in Upper Norwood is barricaded with all staff inside as there are a group of 200 odd youths outside.

Bromley, Catford and Lewisham are teeming with police apparently.

I saw hundreds of people running along Mare Street yesterday and I turned My Scooter around got the fuck out of there. I predicted more Riots yesterday but do think it would spread as fast as it has.

For the Record I don not suporting Rioting and the Burning down of Homes and Businesses. London reminded of the Blitz images shown on histoic doucumentries.

The situation is out of control. People need to protect their homes and family.

Just one note of defence for our beleaguered police force which has come in for some severe criticism.

My friend is a police constable in Southall nick and he was told that he had to fill in three pieces of paper before he was allowed to man the streets last night...he said that paperwork has killed the response of police to many areas. The riot squad had to fill in disclaimers stating that should they be injured their insurance policy will not guarantee full payment!!!!

I would not want to be a police officer for all the tea in china.
