Didn't he? I always thought Twitcher woke up to the fact that Gomes was fucking abysmal and got in Friedel on a free to replace him? Also Gomes' head is totally the wrong shape, just putting it out there.

No he didn't but made the spot his own, he wasn't going to be number 1 if he stayed at Villa, he would have been a great buy for us, we desperately need a quality back up keeper to Chesney who can even push him for a place as this will make him an even better keeper than he is now.

This is what competition is all about, the usual 11 shouldn't be virtually guaranteed of their starting place all the time, but watching these *word censored* play tonight, it'll not worry them one fucking iota. That's why these games are important, they shouldn't just be happy to pick up their fucking big wages, happy with a half-hearted, disinterested run out now and then. It makes me fume that the players tonight playing like that for our great club and even fans that find it acceptable because it's a supposedly meaningless game, it shouldn't be in their vocabulary when it's for The Arsenal.

Just back from the game. Fucking atrocious tbh, God help us if these are the guys who have to dig us out of a hole in the spring when it all goes to shit as usual. Couldn't string two passes together, I've not seen a team given so much time & space since that 2-2 vs Barca and don't even get me started on the Fabianski/Mannone/Squillaci combo. Christ, what a circus.

The only upside was I'd forgotten what a fucking awesome racket they make in that ground. A doff of the cap to the Olympiakos fans...

People may think I'm mad, but I don't know why Wenger (in his penny pinching ways) doesn't go for someone like Andy Johnson, 10 times better than Park and Chamakh and would definitely score goals in our system..

I'm sorry lads I couldnt get to see the game tonight I was too busy watching the Billy Smart circus- they were doing a football theme and they decided to dress as Arsenal defenders.

Strange thing that Sky were airing it on one of their sports channels though....
