IMHO Gnabry looks more cultured on the ball and inventive - which begs the question, why did we buy Yaya in the first place ?

Hard to tell off one game but Yaya seemed more like Niall Quinn whereas Gnabry seemed more like Bergkamp.

I wish the kid well and hope he doesn't retard Gnabrys development.
Gnabry looks like a football player, Sanogo looks like he should be in the kiaora advert

Please don't be so harsh. The postman was involved in both goals we scored.

Do you remember he played in second division last year?
Of course he looked impressed and clumsy sometimes, but his placement was good and he caused many problems to the Liverpool defense. Like other young players, he needs to adapt to top-flight football. See how Koscielny changed since his first game against Liverpool

Get your Postman-22 shirt before his hat trick on Wednesday :dancingbanana:

He did OK for a man who hasn't played much in the last 3 years but why he is catapulted in front of Gnabry who looks the part already and has played some games this season.
Thought he should have come off after an hour when I would have put Gnabry on but of course I haven't worked for 30 years in football so what do I know.
Also felt Bendtner should have at least made the bench but again AKB !

Bayern will NOT be so forgiving however !

Thanks Hleby - just a little less frequent at contributing as things were (sort of are) going well........(ready aim fire).
Also our season over here is in pre-season and i play in two teams and manage another so bit busy.

I will say one thing - that was brave by Wenger playing Sanogo - if we'd lost he wouldve been linched. He was pretty clumsy but i like his touch and volley that led to Ox's goal. The two air swings were horrible and wouldve seen Giroud abused had he done them. Good on the young fella for getting a game - i think it may be a cameo.

Has he improved? - yes, definitely, but he would have been hard pressed to be worse.

Is he a better choice backup striker than Bendtner? - absofuckinglutely.

Is he good enough to be backup striker at a club that wants to win anything? - not by a long shot.

Hopefully he'll get more of a chance, get stronger upper body strength and learn some ball skills, then we'll see what happens, but I'm not holding my breath.

The Guardian match report likened him to John Fashanu, which I found rather disturbing...

Decent game, bullied the Liverpool centre halves a bit and didnt let them settle.

Dreadful first touch though.

This is it for me. Still early for the lad but from what I saw yesterday I'm not particularly convinced he'll be any better then Bendtner.

Deserved his ovation though because he worked very hard and had a big hand in the first goal.

There's something there....I'm not sure what but there is something! I've not seen a defence as rattled by one of our players since TH14 was in the team. I think it probably comes down to his size and the fact that no-one (including himself) could predict where the ball was going when it came off him. I doubt he has the touch to make it in the long run, but as always with the Arsenal crowd you will be forgiven if you run your arse off. Mr Bendtner take note.

This is pretty much what I thought too.

I agree completely. As a team I think we're generally outfought and outmuscled by many teams and it was great to see Sanogo putting himself about and knocking over the Victim's centre backs. You could see they were rattled at times and he made some good interceptions. Giroud takes plenty of punishment but he never seems to dish it out.

I'm surprised by the posters saying Gnabry should have been picked ahead of Sanogo. I really like Serge, but are they really suggesting putting him uptop as our lone striker against Skrtel and Agger? Sadly, the way we play requires a big lump upfront.

I have to agree both of you. He did look like scared giraffe at times, but there is certainly something in him. Of course, he might have a huge need to prove himself as most of the people laughed off this whole transfer.

So what do we need up front then? A lazy c*nt with a great first touch or a big fucking oaf with the touch of a rapist who tries a lot? :rubchin:
