Olympiakos Away Match Day 6

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Now bring on Wolfsburg, please!

Please explain this comment - what odds were against us exactly ?? :? We have players FAR superior to them and we have experience in abundance both internationally and in the champions league. We play in one of the toughest and bigger leagues in world football whilst they play in (and I'm not being harsh here) a 3rd rate league at best. We are one of the richest clubs in world football and when the draw for the groups was initially made, there wasn't a Gooner anywhere that didn't see us finishing above them.
Tell me again what odds were against us ??

Those pointlessly late subs were insane, as was keeping Ozil on the pitch for the full game.

A great night, against the odds.
Seeing as you mentioned it, they were all sackable offences, TBH. Most of 2011 was a sackable offence.

Yeah good point, you never see any of the other leading teams in the PL lose to lower league teams.....

Utd to MK Dons
City to Middlesboro
Liverpool to Northampton

I could go on.....

We should win every game 5-0........otherwise I may go and support another team.
clearly laughing gooner is happy with the occasional amazing result rather winning trophies the like the rest of us want to do
2 FA CUPS iin last 2 seasons aint too Shaby

Olympiakos are a good home side, backed up by the fact that they have beaten some good teams over there in there own back yard

To have to win by 2 goals anywhere is a challenge, and they did it, and I'm Fucking delighted

Cause i am an Arsenal fan, i am happy when they win, otherwise whats the point

Yes i am anti Wenger and want him to move on, but when he does go i will still be there supporting them

Cause i am an Arsenal Fan

That was a fantastic performance, almost made it look easy. The team looked evenly balanced, Theo and Joel working off Giroud, Ramsey in the middle and Ozil doing his thing. Bring Alexis back for Joel and Coquelin (or a new signing) for Flamini then we are geared for more success. Although, tonight I was reminded how brilliantly Flamini played on our way to the Final 2006. For experience it might well be wiser to keep him for Champions League matches.

If people are now saying Olimpiacos are shit by our standards, then that only serves to highlight Arsenal 2 - 3 Olimpiacos one of the worst results in the Wenger era bar none.

There are so many. You must have blocked them out mentally or just have selective memory............

If Cech had of played in that game there would be no need for tonight's heroics. Don't forget Flop-spina fucking in 2 goals that night.

Really pleased with the result. I know we tried our best to fuck it up but at least we scraped through. I know we won't win it but I could not handle entering the Spuds Cup!!

On another note I am having to eat a hell of a lot of humble pie at home recently. For two years I have slated Monreal something horrible and wished many unpleasant acts upon him. Now my nine year old son thinks I am just a crazy old coot who should go and feed the pigeons. Hands up - I might have to admit that he ain't too bad and finally showing himself as a decent player.

Monreal is easily the best LB in the prem, and probably the most consistent defender overall in the league. He's been fantastic for over a year now.

Very happy with that result and glad to Giroud getting 3. I have always said he is harshly treated by many but he is entitled to enjoy a hattrick in such a big game. Great week so far and hopefully a Villains pizzling to come. PS Stoked the boys are coming to Oz for a pre season hit out - will be much cheaper than last time I watched them play.....
