As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.
So.......
Arsenal stewards at City.
Banners confiscated at the turnstiles.
The usual shit with Wenger supporters assaulting us and trying to take banners.
The old bill.....instead of upholding my right to peaceful protest unhindered, weigh in, attempt to assist in the ripping down of banners and eject me from the ground. Threaten to arrest me.
You couldnt make it up fs.
But hey, look who I bumped into en route to the game..............lol

I'd send photos and recounts of it to the press. Let them know that the fans right to a peaceful protest has been stopped by over-aggressive hypocritical policing. They'd quite like another story along these lines as they loved all that anti-Glazer stuff a few years ago, the bin dippers moaning about everything and fans being victimised. On top of that, I would be writing to the club, both clubs in fact and provide them with images and approximate seat numbers of any AKBs who threw a punch or threatened violence. I'd report them for inciting violence at football and damaging the reputation of Arsenal FC, tell them that you are concerned that people like this can get tickets for matches and can't control their tempers.
In addition, I would write to the police and ask for a full written explanation of why you were ejected and under what reasons they decided to take action on one matter and ignore others. Then, forward all replies to the press and Football Supporters Federation.
Reading the reports of fans having their right to free speech trampled on, really does lead to questioning should I support the club anymore. We have the club we support, telling fans that our opinion not only doesn't matter, but that the club will do everything they can to prevent us having our voices heard. The club is beginning to resemble an abusive partner, who we know is a nasty piece of shit, but we fool ourselves into thinking that the good times from the past will return again. Its really sad to see what this club has become.

Fuck sake. Even the coppers are suppressing dissent against TOF.
It's all getting a bit Soviet bloc here. Shameful suppression of free speech. At any other club, you can protest without fear of being chinned by your fellow supporters, let alone being subdued by the police. The club need to answer for this. Get the word out and make the media know what cunnts the wankers running our club are.
WENGER OUT!
NickF wrote:I had 2 anti-Wenger banners taken away. They basically said you weren't allowed any pro or anti Wenger banners. The city steward's checked my banners and then called another Arsenal steward (I think) who said I couldn't take them in due to what they said.
It was noticeable at the end there was a large pro banner so draw your own conclusions..
Did you get your banners back?

All the banners confiscated at the turnstiles, totalling 5 I think, were returned after the game.
One of mine that made it in - the Time For Change banner was taken by a cop, but in the melle and confusion I thought one of the group had it and left without it.
Three banners made it past the stewards......
Time For Change
Au Revoir Arsene
Judgement in May. Go Now
Might be way off target here, but is it possible that the club are ensuring that most away tickets are being given to wenger supporters ? The reason I ask is cos all along we have been told that the away fans are the real supporters and most want wenger out, but it seems in latter weeks that there is an increasing number defending him and away games and are getting physical in the process. I have never bought into this myth that our away fans are proper Gooners and "fair play to the lads who are outsinging the home fans" crap - the 8-2 old shatford debacle and the shameful banner held aloft by the two dogs after the game, showed me that these tickets can be obtained by anybody and not necessarily by "proper Gooners".

Just been texting & twitterng with some Gooners who were at the game and it is true...also some AKB's started trying to take the banners and assaulted some of the people - The stewards did Nada.
Wenger is like footballs version of Kim Jong Un.
So why not not group together at a game and start fighting back. What makes you think these AKB are some sort of "firm".
Seriously, if you are all together and have that "fuck you" mentality then it becomes a different game.

This was fucking depressing. He's obviously happy because he's met Stan's bare minimum requirement again and secured himself another bumper contract.
His post match intevieview was pretty telling too.
He said he found it ''funny'' how the team didnt look like scoring at 1-1 but suddenly did when losing 2-1.
Wenger then said how it meant subconsciously they didnt want to lose. The truth is probably that top 4 is all they subconsciously are aiming for. Including Wenger himself
Heard an interview on the radio this morning from the French bloke, telling us how we had the best record against the top 4 team.
Not sure if we get a trophy for that but he forgot to mention how we are 12 points behind the leaders. Don't you want to fucking slap him
I seen DT, on one of those Arsenal hang outs last night, and according to him, City had zero problems with fans bringing in anti-Wenger banners, but had been told by the club to do an extensive search of every fan in the away end. Also, when the game ended, he was standing there with his son, and AKB'S tried to attack him. Honestly, if your going to attack someone, when they have their child with them, then you are nothing but scum. Its sad, I never thought I would refer to our supporters that way, but that's what some of them are.
