Wenger with his trademark smirk right after a humiliating defeat as he's being interviewed.

This result is a blessing, after the inevitable Europa humiliation coming he will have nothing to save his arse.
Wouldn't bet on it I'm afraid. Milan are 7th in Serie A. If they were in the tougher PL they'd probably be battling it out with Watford and Bournmouth. They're a shadowy of their former self. Odds are well scrape past them.
Are Milan better than Bournemouth Swansea and Östersund? Yes

Roma 0 AC Milan 2 tonight
But they ain't as good as Chelsea who we have a 0-0 away and a 2-1 at home this season
Or Spurs who we have a 2-0 home win against

Hanging onto history, 1987 final.

When we had men like Tony Adams, David O Leary, Kenny Sansom and Rocky instead of a team of melts
I was at Luton in 85/86 when they knocked us out the fa cup 3-0 with sansom o'leary and rocastle
And watford a month later by the same result ( Adams not o'leary that time)
We were fucking shocking
The difference is don Howe resigned before these two games
( burtenshaw was in charge for the Watford game)
It is Wenger that is the problem
I was at the Luton game myself and the team came over to do the usual clap to us.

All got booed off and worse except for Rocky.

This is far worse as history has told us we turned it around under GG,p;layers respected him and anyone that watched us around those times knew we win or lose we were a hard team to play against.
History has turned it around but these were dark days indeed losing 3-0 Southampton and Oxford
I went on a coach to villa for that league cup( quarter final I believe it was) we called it broken nose tours
It was full of big hard thugs
We were the first ones back on the coach
The toilet was a plastic bag that gained a hole
The backseat became the toilet after that
Nobody saw the george era coming round the corner a year later
But it did and largely with the same players
A better manager would get a better tune out of what we have and a desire for better
Just get rid

I am.always against fans leaving early well I was up to yesterday..I fully understand the exodus yesterday after the third goal..There is nothing you can do about losing to a better team , but you can try , and run yourself into the ground and genuine fans will appreciate the effort..Yesterday was just a surrender of the sorriest kind. Spineless, gutless leaderless on and off the pitch...Team gives something the supporters will return it..Nothing Arsenal players or manager done yesterday justified the fans staying behind to applaud them...
When you have witnessed 90 minutes of absolute I Don't Give A Shyte attitude by 10 of the 11 players you have paid a lot of money to watch and support and gone through all kinds of hassles to get there then Walking out Early is totally understandable.

I absolutely agree with that BWK! I wasnt criticising our fans for not supporting the players etc. I couldn't give a shit about that lot. I was thinking more about the image of our supporters. And that its the one thing we can still control.

The people who own or run the club have taken so much away from us in recent years. Our stadium, our identity, our pride ... they've even manipulated things so that our crowd at homes games isn't really what you can call a real Arsenal crowd anymore.

So as I said, it seems to me that the only thing we are able to preserve is our own reputation, outside of the Emirates at least.

I didn't even attempt to get a ticket for yesterday so I understand the frustrations and it might sound hypocritical of me to slate fans for leaving when I didnt even bother to go in the first place. But that was my point, I just think if you did make the decision to go ... then at least stay to the end. Nobody sees it when if you're at home and you turn off the TV in disgust. But everyone sees it when thousands walk out of a stadium in a cup final en masse.

what reputation do you think we have ?
most other club fans think we are like AFTV

I can understand staying to the end when your team are putting up a fight and might get a consolation goal
yesterday was the first final where we just threw in the towel early on

Walking out early did not reflect on the reputation of our long-suffering supporters in any way, shape or form. Staying there oblivious to whatever dogshit we were being served up would have done that. I don't care whether it was a Wembley final. It is the only sane response. Let's put the spotlight back where it belongs, on this dog turd of a manager, not the supporters who did what they should have done much more - walk out half an hour before the end of matches.

Good question, maybe I'm living in the past and we are (unfairly) judged by the Emirates crowd and AFTV ?!

But also, Bob Bayliss mentioned on here that before yesterday we've only ever lost by more than one goal in a final and that was nearly 50 years ago, So in all previous finals we've been in, we have still had something to play for right until the end ... and so perhaps that's one other reason why what happened yesterday hasnt happened before.

I thought the more sane thing to do was not to go in the first place ? :D

I actually agree with a lot of what you say Bob. However I also think its only those of us who that know the problems, that know the reasons for walking out. That game was watched around the world by people who might now just think Arsenal have fans that walk out on them in a final.

Maybe what others think of our club or our fans isnt important though ... I'm not sure I care anymore to be honest!

Commiserations to those that went.
Pathetic limp wristed crap, that is the norm for us now.
It's barely moved me ,bit like the players .
Funny thing is we can still win the europa but not playing like this.
The slide is picking up speed .
Basically sums it up.
6th game we've lost this year isnt it,relegation form........
Nobody has ever gone down with 44 points
Its never got anyone into the top 4 either.....not that this club deserves to qualify for the be all and end all,the acceptable losing culture stems from the manager,as does the shit squad we now have,45 points hasn't got anyone relegated but is 45 points with 13 games to good enough for Arsenal? 27 points off City is fucking embarrassing,

Nothing will change until fans stay away in their thousands week after week. And they won't. So nothing will change until fucking Wenger decides to go.
I was sat at half time talking to a Wenger lover. I had to be very restrained but after a very long conversation asked him to justify spending £35m on xhaka as a starting point, cue silence, He was going on about Wenger not having the money to compete with city, It beggars belief.
Yet you were happy enough to attend today....
Have a think about it.
I’m a gooner through thick and thin. Think about it..........
no real Arsenal supporter can continue blindly attending matches and hoping that things can get better.
they won't.

to be honest the real Arsenal support has already stopped attending, the ones that are left are the deluded, those who want a nice day out and the growing overseas tourist market.
Wenger is still in a job because people continue to go and spend their money. You have to remember that Arsenal is now a business first and a football club second. Wenger would be sacked if enough people stayed away, but the fanbase is too weak. the team reflects that weakness.
Mate don't talk crap. Football is and has been a social occasion for me for years. It's an opportunity to catch up with mates have some good food/few beers. The results are almost incidental these days.

To say real Arsenal fans don't go to the games again is utterly retarded, there are a lot of Gooners that went pre Wenger (including me) that have had season tickets for 30+ years.

Do you go to football on your own or something?

Those that walked out were wrong. A lot of them would have been 'tourist' fans. All quick enough to snap up final tickets when there was glory to be had but fast enough to run early as to get the tube back to their hotel.

To suggest a protest element is nonsense, they left for personal reasons (obviously the score did not help). If it was a protest needed then they should have stayed till end and everyone could sing 'Wenger out'.

Empty seats may have looked good on TV but most fans of other clubs would just see it as Arsenal sulking at the defeat.

If anyone really believes it was a (proper) protest, then ask yourselves.....how many of them will march when the next official protest happens?
