TRANSFER SPECULATION - WHO ARE WE LINKED WITH?

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

We were linked with him last season, and now that he is reportedly out of his contract with Fenerbahce, he is a candidate for a hard working midfielder who can pass and tackle to reasonable ability.

With a Barry deal looking unlikely, and no concrete news on Alonso, and doubts now cast over a move for Inler by Steve Stammers on Arsenal TV....this could be the signing we have been waiting for.

Anyone seen him play, as I have only seen bits for Ghana?

The forum cannot allow a trend to start where users start linking players themselves otherwise all hell is going to break loose :banghead: :D

I link Quartzgooner with a move to the mental asylum
I started the thread, can do what I like.

Seriously though, my "link" is just as valid as something off caughtoffside.com if not more so, but yeah, if loads of people start creating ridiculous "links" then yeah, it would be anarchy.

Goonertalk.com have announced we have signed a four year deal with midfielder Gokhan Inler.

Journalist and Arsenal "insider" Steve Stammers said last week on Arsenal TV that any deal for Inler was off because of complications.

I will believe the deal if and when it is announced on Arsenal.com.

If it is announced on ManUtd.com I will not believe it until corroborated, considering their track record with Ramsey!

From Setanta

The Gunners are rumoured to be highly interested in the services of Rennes' Cameroon international Stephane Mbia, strongly linked to Everton as well, and sending Djourou to Brittany could help this transfer happen.

Mbia is a 22 year old, 6ft 1 1/2 defensive midfielder and fill in right back according to Wikipedia.

gervinho looks like dwogba.

Le Mans starlet Gervinho has reiterated his desire to secure a transfer to Arsenal.

The Ivory Coast international declared earlier in the summer that Arsenal were keen to sign him.

The Gunners' interest appears to have cooled but Gervinho feels a move could still go ahead in the future if he keeps improving.

The 21-year-old striker admits he has always longed to play for Arsenal and he is determined to catch the eye of Arsene Wenger.

"It will depend on my good work at Le Mans," Gervinho told skysports.com.

Freedom
"I need to keep working and Arsenal will open the door for me.

"I have dreamed about that club. To play for Arsenal will be the best day of my life and I will do anything to play for that team."

Asked why Arsenal were his dream club, Gervinho replied: "It is their game, the freedom the manager give them to express their qualities.

"They are all young players and out of all the top European clubs they are the only ones who work like this. I really love that."

From THE SUN
By MARK IRWIN

ARSENAL are poised to land Feyenoord’s Jonathan De Guzman for £12million.

Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has made his move for the tough-tackling midfielder, 20, who is known as the Dutch version of Owen Hargreaves.

Canadian-born De Guzman has been on Arsenal’s radar for the past two years and now Wenger wants him to be Cesc Fabregas’ minder.

And the player is keen on the deal despite rival interest from Everton.

De Guzman, whose older brother Julian plays for Deportivo La Coruna in Spain, acquired Dutch citizenship in January.

And he snubbed the chance to play for Canada in order to make his debut for Holland’s Under-21 team in March.

He recently claimed: “My dream clubs are Arsenal and Barcelona. If clubs of that stature are interested in you then you cannot say no.

“I’m certainly open to interest from Arsenal and from what I hear Feyenoord are happy to hear from them as well.â€
