Premier League chief executive Richard Masters says a date has been set for the hearing into Manchester City's alleged breaches of financial rules.

But, speaking in front of MPs, Masters said he could not reveal the date.

Everton, already appealing against a 10-point deduction for a previous charge, and Nottingham Forest were charged for breaching league profit and sustainability rules on Monday.

Masters said he understood why both clubs' fans might be frustrated.

"I can [understand] but they are very different charge" he told the Culture, Media and Sport (CMS) committee.

"If any club, the current champions or otherwise, had been found in breach of the spending rules, they would be in exactly the same position as Everton or Nottingham Forest.

"But the volume and character of the charges laid before Manchester City, which I obviously cannot talk about at all, are being heard in a completely different environment (***).

"There is a date set for that proceeding. Unfortunately, I can't tell you when that is but it is progressing."

Premier League champions City were charged with more than 100 breaches in February 2023 but are yet to face a hearing.

Everton were handed a 10-point deduction in November, having been referred to an independent commission in March.

City's charges related to a nine-year time frame from 2009. Since 2009, they have won the top flight seven times, but are facing potential relegation and having titles taken away if the case against them is proven.

Yeah Riiight As If!

They were also charged with failing to co-operate since the Premier League launched its investigation in 2018.

..............................................................

We ought to run a Book on the outcome, but that will depend on a few things.

I wouldn't mind betting Cheaty's lawyers have asked that the hearing be held in Saudi - (***) Location and Date to be confirmed.

How much Cheaty's owner Sheikh Mansour will be donating to the FA's Favoutite Charities (whose accounts are in Switzerland and Austria where Regular Financial Laws Don't Apply).
How many Rolex's it'll take ensure they are found Not Guilty

One step away from actually paying people to watch it.

it got me thinking how much I would need to be paid to actually go and watch a women's football match?
I reckon I wouldn't do it for under £100 - not worth the waste of time otherwise.

I've seen two games in person, both at Boreham Wood about 15 years ago. It was like watching children play. That's all I can say, really. The standard was probably on a par with U12s. Other stuff I've seen in passing on telly over the years tells me that even though they are now professionals, the standard has hardly improved. Horrendous goalkeeping that would embarrass an U10s player, mishit shots, corners that just roll along the floor, hoofing it around but only making the ball go about ten metres and the only tactic being have a shot at goal from anywhere because the silly cow in goal will more than likely let it in. It's as close to proper football as a wheelbarrow race is to Formula 1 motor racing.

:rubchin:

That's a tough question. I don't need the money so it wouldn't be like doing it out of necessity. I'd have to gauge how much I'd want to suffer the absolute deadening tedium of watching ludicrously shit pretend-football played by a bunch of carpet specialists that look pretty much like dodgy blokes and have the footballing talent and technique of young boys.

I'd probably want a couple million quid or they can fuck off. :D

If I couldn’t get tickets to a man’s game then I’d take my granddaughter if she wanted to go and see the Lezzers, and if it helped her cement the Arsenal into her life too then all the better, but it would be more about getting her to the ground and showing her the club and history because I’m not sure there’d be any atmosphere, but I’d be so critical of the utter shite the women dished up I’d really doubt I’d enjoy it

I see fucking arsehole Football Bono AKA Trampy Shipman AKA Herr Stupid Teeth Klopp has jumped into the defence of The Hypocrite Jordan "MOPOAT"* Henderson....

Apparently we are not allowed to criticise Henderson because "no one gets every decision right in life."

Fuck me. The cùnt Henderson made a fortune from personal endorsements paid by big companies and advertisers etc based on an image he presented to the public, the image of the "nice guy" that stands up for inclusivity and gay rights. And then said Mr nice guy fucks off to a country that bans gay rights, and has executed homosexuals, all so he can pocket 700k a week. :x

Hypocritical Cùnt. But no, we are not supposed to judge him because he is besties with one of the biggest fucking arseholes to ever manage in the sport. Fuck off. :censored:

*Most Overrated Player Of All Time.

BBC:

Due to be broadcast 24th January 2024:

https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m001vnm5

" How and why has Pep Guardiola been able to revolutionise football?

This documentary offers a deep dive into Pep’s relentless pursuit of perfection and the methods and motivations that have led him to leave a lasting imprint on the beautiful game.

Fascinating interviews with his inner circle, including his right-hand man Txiki Begiristain, uncover Pep’s journey from a small town in Catalonia to the awe-inspiring Camp Nou and the importance of his pivotal relationship with managerial guru Johan Cruyff.

Spanish World Cup winner Carles Puyol lifts the lid on Guardiola’s innovative approach to managing Barcelona’s first team whilst disclosing how he dealt with the pressures of an intense rivalry with José Mourinho.

After his dramatic departure from Barça, Pep’s closest confidants discuss his constant search for self-improvement and a New York sabbatical that led to his Bayern Munich appointment. Star players Robert Lewandowski and Manuel Neuer reveal the leadership challenges Pep faced as he strove to apply his football philosophy to a club steeped in history.

Current Manchester City players Phil Foden and Kyle Walker bring to life Guardiola’s relentless work ethic, whilst former Oasis singer Noel Gallagher reflects on how Pep took the club from a fourth-place finish to a 100 point title-winning season in the space of the year.

From his humble beginnings as boss of Barcelona B, to his crowning moment in the 2023 Champions League, this documentary charts Pep’s transcendent managerial journey across Europe’s top leagues.

It is the definitive origin story of a once-in-a-generation genius footballing mind."

Bbc headline and article about wsl game at Emirates being a record crowd and another sell out or similar.

Article fails to mention ticket prices or how many have been given away to schools....its almost as if there's an agenda

Still at least we have all those new right on names for the London overground lines to be getting on with!
