Transfer Rumours Thread

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Terrible news!
Everyone knows not to have an Arsenal defender in your Fantasy league team and I've got Cahill!

I wonder who we are in the market for :?:
some groceries probably :?
This photo was taken outside the ground late this afternoon by someone who posted it on Twitter.
Looks like we are indeed in the market for some groceries.

Not for anyone, but for selling Almunia, Bendtner, Squillacci, Diaby. Maybe we could offer all four for Parker plus cash.

Tottenham have agreed a loan deal for Manchester City striker Emmanuel Adebayor.
Full story: the Sun

Manchester United are hoping to lure Samir Nasri to Old Trafford despite Manchester City agreeing a deal with Arsenal for the midfielder.
Full story: Daily Mail

QPR are stepping up their efforts to sign unsettled Newcastle midfielder Joey Barton and have made a new £5m offer for West Ham's Scott Parker.
Full story: Daily Mail

Arsenal target Eden Hazard has once again reaffirmed his commitment to Lille by ruling out a move to the Emirates this summer.
Full story: talkSPORT

Arsene Wenger will look to sign Everton pair Phil Jagielka and Mikel Arteta as he looks to strengthen his Arsenal side before the transfer window closes at the end of the month.
Full story: Caughtoffside.com

I really don't know why I still read the bl**dy rumours. We're within days, almost hours, of the deadline and for some strange reason I still think that we might sign Cahill, Jagielka, Samba, Hazard, Parker etc...... In truth, I realise that we'll probably sign no-one and then look forward to the thread starting up again in late November :banghead: !

Daily Mail is running a story that the GIC has upped his offer for Yann M'Vila to £22m in a bid to get them talking.
They say that Rennes booted our first £15m offer into touch and Arsene is desparate to get them to the negotiating table.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/footba ... MVila.html

They know we have money from the Nasri and Cesc sales and will probably try and sell him for £25m+ which is out of Arsenes price bracket.
If we'd been serious and gone after him earlier this summer I reckon £18m might have gotten this lad- now they can afford to demand a kings ransom for this player.

The worrying thing from our point of view is that our standing with clubs and players is falling by the day.
Even the clubs and players in France (favourite market of the GIC) have to think twice about joining the Arsenal- the daily rags reckon that even if we had a bid accepted for Hazard he would reject us anyway as hes happy to stay at Lille where he can at least compete for silverware.
The quotes attributed to Mata further back this up where he clearly states that he wanted to join the chavs because of the chances that he could pick up some medals.

SO FRUSTRATING :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

I honestly do not care what we pay for players now! He never spends the fucking money anyway so spend what is needed finally and get some fucking talent in the side to help the awesome youngsters and couple of world-classers we already have! He's got a shed load of cash, so go and spend it ARSENE!!! If it means we pay above the odds for a couple of guys who can step into the team now, ready made and compliment the small amount of good ones we have like Jack, Aaron, Robin TV etc, so be it! Sadly I can't see us gettin more than one or two (which was needed anyway before we even sold Clichy, C'esc or $am) :banghead: :banghead:

There's no way he'll pay 20m+ for M'Vila!!!

He'll go for some unknown Pepe le Ponce from Nancy for £6m because he had a great season last year after moving from 4th division side 'Allez le Shite' for two pounds of onions the season before!! :banghead:

Why have a global scouting network when the only fucking country he looks in is France? We must have one of the worst scouting networks in history!!
